Moving to Cali! and some 60k service
Hey all,
So im packing my bags and moving out to Los Angeles and will be taking the IS250 for the ride. Ive been in Minnesota for 3 years and am taking a new job in the city, HURRAY! that would be a 30 hour drive, 3 day adventure with one night in Vegas
In preparation for the long journey I decided to finish up all my 60k service since its been overdue for...about 7k miles. If anyone were questioning whether to do it themselves, id say for anyone who has changed their own oil, it can be done with a friend in about 4 hours, minus the spark plugs. I'm still not comfortable yet doing the spark plugs so i took it to the dealer for about 300 and change. a ripoff? meh, ill try it myself next time.
New front rotors, new brake pads all around, brake fluid flush, an oil change and for me a change over to summer tires. I bought just about everything off irontoad, rotors, pads, cabin filter, and oil filters. I used some Valvoline dot 3/4 brake fluid that I picked up at Napa, and use 5w30 mobil1. I did not replace the rear rotors since they get so much less wear, didnt really have to change the fronts when i looked at it but i had already taken the brakes off so i just went ahead with it.
the next question is, what do all you LA owners do and when do yall meet up? AND, where the **** do you find a garage to play with your car when you live in an apartment? There are rental garage units in some city's that have tools and everything that charge hourly for the space. i couldn't Google myself a place like that in LA area. Perhaps there are some generous members who'd let me wrench in their garage for a few beers? Now that i can drive the pacific coastal highway im going to throw some sway bars in...but im not about to jack up in my apartment garage.
Cheers to West Coast!

congratulations.
see the socal CL section for more information on meets and happenings.
there are a few other weekly meets varying in location, size, and attendee demographics, but two weekly ones that come to mind are the friday night meets and the south OC meets. check those respective threads for more details.
