Chicago Independent Lexus Service / Repair Shops
Thinking about adding a low mileage IS to our Lexus family (would be my son's car).
Can anyone recommend a good independent Lexus shop in the northwest Chicago area?
I posted in the Chicago regional section but wanted a couple more recommendations on shops that deal more exclusively with the IS.
Thanks,
James

i dont know if there are any shops exclusively working with Lexus cars.
what kind of service or repairs did you have in mind? im sure any regular mama/papa shops can do services for cheap. i mean how hard is it to do oil changes, changing air filters, transmission oils is it?
if you're speaking more about performance shops, i think th motorsports and sound performance can help you with that. i believe theyre pretty familiar with lexus (considering th motorsports sponsors and hosts for my.is and sound performance, they worked on older IS models or generally speaking 2jz motors).

Engine Tune up, suspension check, overall look over and analysis
I think the engine needs a tune up because when it starts and idles it sounds like there is a slight unusual hum and click, but runs well on the highway.
1994 LS400 with 81,000 miles. I got it last year with 72,000 miles on it.
The steering pump leaks. A place on Dempster Avenue in Morton Grove was asking $800 to replace the steering pump seal and the rack and pinion (where there also was a leak).
I would like that taken care of too.
