my local dealership charges $150 too. I asked for an oil change and they said they don't do oil changes, they only offer the $150 "oil change" package. complete BS to me. So i just take it to a independent shop with the parts / oil to get my oil changes.

My local Lexus dealership charges $89.99 for synthetic compared to $69.99 at Toyota for the same thing. I usually go to Lexus so I can sit in the lobby and sample all the free food and coffee, and somehow I convince myself it's worth the extra $20

if they are going to scam you they will pour your oil into an old bottle the dealership doesn't sell (so the dealership can't say they took the oil from them) and use the dealership oil. They scam both the dealer (they put dealer oil in but didn't charge you for it) and you.
But at least you'll have your empty container back...
I'm not saying it happens, but it could very easily

My dealer only charge 63 bucks for an oil change, pretty good if you ask me considering if my car gets messed up their asses are on the line, where as a Toyota dealer will do nothing for me since I am a Lexus customer, not Toyota.

With the ClubLexus discount, I just ordered oil filters/O-ring kits at $3.99/each, and crush-gaskets at $.80/each. If you order several, then even with the shipping charge, it beats the price you paid for a filter at the dealer. The Toyota dealer may not even have the correct filter in stock, so I always take mine with me. Taking the gasket, too, insures(?) that it will be replaced with the new one, to avoid leaks. I paid about $31 for my last oil change at Toyota, using their 5-20 oil.

I let Toyota do mine as well. $44.13 tax total...
I use standard oil, but change it and filter every 3000 like clockwork.
oh, and I get a free Latte and cookies while I wait....

I'm down in San Diego and brought in my 09 for an oil change at Escondido Lexus for the 1st time. They charge about $89.99 for an oil change. I brought in my own MobilOne oil I got from Costco. For parts and labor, came out to $57.66. Costco oil $30 with coupon.
Conclusion - Still came out about the same price.
NOTE: They didn't give me back my left over or empty oil bottles... and I didn't ask them.

For example, I had a nail in my tires so I took it to the Lexus dealer to get it changed, since my wheels were too wide and they didnt have the tools, the Lexus dealer gave me a $50 gift card and let me take it down the street to do it at a shop for 40 bucks.
