B2A - Safety Recall B2A/BLA
I don't know if everyone saw the news this morning, but Lexus is initiating another recall on certain IS and GS model cars. The recall has to do with insufficient tightening of the Fuel Pressure Sensor, and I have included a PDF of the preliminary notice.
Please read the PDF, it will explain everything. If you need to check your VIN to see if it is going to be part of this recall, check the Lexus website and register your vehicle if you have not already.

Are you thinking some accountant someplace figured they'd save a fortune by slightly under tightening a single thing on the car? How would that work? Or are you just over-reacting without applying some critical thinking to this specific problem?
Of the 3 recalls that apply to my 2IS... one is complete BS forced on Toyota by the press and a congress that suddenly found itself owning GM (the floor mat one)... another impacts 0.2% of owners... and now this third one is a bolt that might work itself loose after several years but has caused no actual accidents or anything.
I mean, I'm as critical of **** bean counters as the next guy, but none of these are exactly analogous to say, Ford not spending $ fixing their defective cruise control switches for like a decade no matter how many people died in fires because of it.

this is what showed up when i checked the lexus site
2007 LEXUS IS350
Safety Recall B2A/BLA Certain 2006 - 2007 GS, 2006 - early 2009 IS 250 and 2006 - early 2008 IS 350 vehicles Insufficient Tightening of the Fuel Pressure Sensor At the present time, Lexus is developing a remedy for this Safety Recall. As soon as a rememdy is available, Lexus will notify owners of covered vehicles by first class mail. Please continue to check this website for additional informtion.
Condition:
Due to insufficient tightening of the fuel pressure sensor connected to certain engine fuel delivery pipes (those with Nickel Phosphorus plating), there is a possibility that, over time, the pressure sensor could loosen. If loosening occurs, fuel could leak past a gasket used in the connection between the sensor and pipe and through the threaded portion of the sensor.

Just another hassle. I live 75 miles away so it is a day lost for me everytime these recalls hit. Eventually these 'death by a thousand cuts' recalls will start having an affect on perceived quality and resale value. I keep my cars a long time but still don't like seeing these continuous recalls.

Couldn't register on the lexus site. It said it could not process my request at the time and to try again later.
When and where can I check with my VIN if my car is affected?
