interesting how some people have never heard what a blown speaker sounds like , go find a friend with an american car from the early 90's and tell him to blast his radio, then you'll know what a blown speaker sounds like

I've heard of people replacing that exact speaker 3-4 times (all under warranty). Might want to consider aftermarket if you're hurting for some bass.

How do you check if you have blown your speaker?

It should be incredibly obvious. The bass will be very distorted.

yeah I finally disconnected mine and just let my 12" do the driving, now. The installers that did the work left it hooked up...I guess to try and capture the higher bass notes the 12" may not have captured, but eventually it got to the point that I could hear that damn rattling in most volume situations, so it had to go.
