Default Excessive oil consumption

2006 is350 130xxx miles.

For the past couple of months my car has started consuming excessive amounts of oil. Before I would go through a bottle of Mobil 1 synthetic /month. Lately I'm having to buy 2 bottles just to make sure my oil is topped off at all times.

My dealer has recognized that my car is consuming oil at an abnormal rate, no remedy though.
He says I will have to pay for a compression test and whatever else entails to determine the cause of this excessive compsumption and then pay for the repairs.

I'm trying to figure out if there is any other way around this issue. Has anyone else been in a similar situation ? Remedies ? I have documented with pictures the oil level and the mileage.

Thank you.

Well the reason for mine doing that was the timing chain cover was leaking, but thats something I would assume your dealer would have checked... if this is the cause for your issue, its going to be about 2500-3000 to fix.

I recently went in for diagnostics and the only thing leaking are my valve covers which will be fixed in the VVT recall.

They don't leak enough to have me purchase 2 qts if pull every 1500 miles

Ended up contacting corporate after dealer said "I can see smoke coming from your exhaust". 6 hour diagnosis with pics. Leak down test, compression test, etc.

Hopefully it's nothing crazy.
