Unfortunately, you would have probably had a much easier time had you actually left the hooks in the weather stripping and simply used a pliers to pinch the other end of each hook out from where they attach to. This way would make attaching the weather stripping back a much less painful experience.
No worries though. At this point, your best bet is to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to hold each hook and carefully twist it into its hole on the weather stripping. Go slowly, one by one. It could take a little while but you're much better off taking your time than ripping any of the weather stripping.

I know it's kinda LOL question but has anyone found '09 lower zig-zag grille?! Or maybe modded the '11 lower grille to fit in '09?! Can't see the logic - why not to do a lower grille for '09-10??? I think there will be a lot of buyers... I am among the first!!))

I followed your instructions and it worked like a charm! Thanks
Hey guys:
I just installed my IS-F (replica) grille from Ebay. The fit is perfect and install took about 10 mins. And...you DO NOT have to remove the chrome surround to install! Once I removed the clips and 10mm screw from the top, I pulled off the weatherstripping that wasn't attached to the grille. There are 2 little pins on each side that come out. They came off easy. If they pull out of the weatherstripping, they go right back in with no problem. I then reached down and pushed the tabs that are on the side and bottom of the OEM insert. Once the tabs were loose, I just pushed the insert in toward the radiator and it came out. I then placed the new grille insert into the chrome surround from the back side and it snapped into place. There is no need what so ever to pull the chrome surround out unless your replacing the whole thing. I used a wide blade putty knife to pull the "L" from the OEM grille and then used 3M two-sided tape to reattach to the new grill. Very easy guys...

Thread revival from the dead. I have a 2011 IS250 and wanted to install the F-Sport grille. I went cheap and got a grille on Ebay that was definitely not right. My stock original grille is on the top, what came in is on the bottom. Obviously different.
For 100% clarification, is the grille insert I need to fit my grille part number 53112-53220???? This thread also mentions a painted grille surround, part number 53111-53250. Is that the part number of the painted surround and does anyone have a picture of it? The bottom grille in the picture was verified to be from a 2011 ISF using a VIN from a 2011 ISF and matching the part numbers, this is why this is confusing.
