Default Traded 2006 IS350 for 2010 Jetta TDI DSG

Goodbye everyone.

Just took advantage of the 0% for 60 months and 3 years of free maintenance that VW was offering on their Jetta TDI models.

Considered the Lexus Hybrids and took advantage of Hybrid loaners at every opportunity. Found major drive ability compromises in performance and handling from the several hundred pounds added by the batteries and electric motors.

Did the research on reliability and Consumer Reports both in the recent 2006+ and "Would you buy again" category gave the Jetta TDI top marks. Ironically the Lexus IS ranked near the bottom of CR's "Would you buy again" ranking.

Thanks for everyone's advice.

I looked at the A3 TDI but they are very hard to find. No dealer discounts or incentives to be had.

Originally picked up the TDI for a daily driver with plans to keep the IS. After 2 months the IS just sat in the garage and the only time I drove it was when the wife jacked my TDI. Finally sold the IS to Carmax for retail.

Friend with a 2009 IS 250 picked up a Jetta TDI DSG a week before me and is now selling their IS too.

Congrats on the new car and I am glad that it suits your needs. Not everyone enjoys the same type of vehicle and I'm sorry that Lexus disappoints you. Drive safely and have fun!

HOWEVER

I am hoping that the new owner of your IS will find us here and join us on Club Lexus.

Take care.
