Default dashboard noise on uneven pavement

Hi I just bought an 07 IS 250 with x package and 24,000 miles....love the car and in great condition. I have warranty till June.

My question is...when the music is off I hear & notice that the dashboard sounds like it moves & makes a light noise...almost like its shifting & rubbing on each other when on uneven road. Is this normal noise for the IS or could it be that the dashboard is not tight? It's not quite a rattle noise but almost.

I do know that the previous owner took it in and the dashboard was removed for some problem but I do not know if it was for noise... I am assuming if I call Lexus they may be able to tell me. Please let me know if this is common for the car or if it is something that I should take in for. I only hear and notice it if the music is really low or off. Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated!!
Thks! Lissette

It happens to everyone I think, the materials of the dashboard flexes with the changing temperature so they rub against each other and makes the occasional creaking and cracking noise.

It happens to me every time I drive with AC in the summer, or heat in the winter, or when I hit a bump or make a turn. I just like to think my car is getting old with age and miles

sign up here to see the service history.

The previous owner most likely took it in the noise issue. There's a TSB about that. I actually scheduled my appointment for Saturday to get this done. Let me see if I can find the TSB.

I considered the temperature thing and the flexing of the dash but I just do not think it should be happening.... but maybe I am comparing the mercedes 06 c230 I had with 64,000 miles and it had no noise whatsoever and was super smooth. The IS has way less miles on it so it cannot be wear or age that is making the dash move and make noise...right? :/

Bad design...I think most who have had it fixed, say other noices pop up after that...

i found a culprit--one of many, to be the right side plastic piece on the side of the dash--directly opposite the door panel, it sort of wobbles. A quick test if foam between the door and dash panel...

My 01 Acura doesn't have it, neither does my gf's 93 Legend... its an attribute of modern car design and materials lol

My IS has 77k miles on it, and its been creaking since day one.
