I got both of mine, main and spare, replaced for free from the dealership service department. If memory serves me correct, he took out the metal key from the FOB, and use that to pop the plastic open to reveal the battery. It looked like a normal round lithiam battery though, probably purchasble from Office Depot or something.
some dealers will give you a new battery, but for the most part, you can pick the little battery at a walmart or target. i got two, as both of the batteries on my fobs were dying, at the 99 cent store....but for $1.99. lol
lol.. dont buy it fromt he dealer... the battery can be bought anywhere for a lot cheaper.. CVS, Walgreens, Walmart... anywhere that sells watches or those kind of batteries
The Smart Key uses a CR1632 battery. I brought 5 on eBay for $6. Replacing it is easy, just pull out the actual key and stick a flat head screwdriver in to take the keyfob into two pieces to access the battery.
