Default is250 awd to is350 awd Conversion just a thought

hello everyone, i know the is350 awd has yet to come out but suppose it came out, would you think it would be possible to take out my is250 awd engine and slap on a is350 awd engine because im 19 there is no way that i can trade in my car to get an is350 and im not going to be changing car until a LONG time well until i get out of school. also my pops is a mechanic so it would be much cheaper to just get an is350 engine and slap it in. its just do guys think the conversion would work. Also it would be better on my insurance if they thought the whole time i was driving an is250 =D

be prepared to have the words (and taste) no, not worth it, it would be a waste of time and cost more than buying an isf... slapped out of your mouth

why don't you just trade it in for one in the future. it's a lot easier than swapping.

the reason why i feel it would be cheaper is because me and my pops can do the engine swap ourselves in only couple hours so all we need to buy is the engine and no money for a new car this is just a question if that could be a possiblity for me

swapping the engine might be easy but getting everything to work like ac and abs is hard...the ecu is encrypted if u didnt already know btw, its way easier to just get a 350 awd and itll come with the warranty and reliability

Yes it is possible we did it to a 07 is250 awd back in 08. there was quite a bit or work involved. The biggest pain your have is the wiring harness. We pulled all the pin's from the factory harness and repinned them so it looks 100% factory.

That was the easier part, you use the ECU from the 350 engine and keep the TCU from the 250 awd. You just rewire the harness.

It will be in a few years. No one is going to buy that stuff new from the dealer and the first couple one's to get parted it will be high dollar because of supply and demand. So once the market is saturated with them everywhere then it will be plug and play. I haven't taken a look at the new 350 awd yet but I know the floor is different between the 250 and 350. So assuming they have a new 350 awd trans your going to have to mod the floor to make it work as well with the 350 awd trans.

yeah i figured in a few years just for the fact of price. we need some fools to total their cars!! I didnt notice the floor difference though. I may go see if i can find one at my dealer to see.
