Vibration when driving fast
I tried searching but couldn't find anything. What I've been noticing lately is when I cruise at speeds 80MPH and above, I can feel the car vibrate periodically. It'll vibrate for about half a second every 2-3 seconds. Its a very subtle vibration that can be easily masked if I'm not paying attention to it. Its the same vibration feeling like changing lanes and hitting the bumps on the lane marks, but not as harsh.
Anyone else notice anything smiliar?
thx

If ur re-balancing ur wheels
check out the center bore of the wheel and make sure it matches the lexus 60.06 center bore. If it doesnt thats ur cause right there, u need hub centric rings
if u got after market wheels/reps u should get some hub centric rings, that will take care of the vibrations. Thats is usually the cure if everything else is correct (balance, tire pressure etc) and u still have vibrations
U might even have a bent rim. so check out the barrels of ur rims

I have this same problem at that exact speed.
I noticed the problem right at the end of life on a set of tires I had on so I didnt sweat it. I figured when I got the new tired mounted and balanced it would go away..... Well I got the new tires mounted and balanced and the vibration was still there.
I am about to change tires again. This time I am going to have the wheels balanced while mounted on the car (there is a place that says they do that)

the tire cupping is what i was going to tell you, at the speeds you feel it i don't believe it would be balancing but you should have it checked out by an experienced tire tech using roadforce to verify the tire

I get that slightly when on the highway doing 80mph. I cant say that the steering wheel vibrates. But I see my vanity mirror moving, im sure its normal for our cars. Its a luxury/sports car. Plus the stock tires are considered low profile which takes away from ride comfort.

I had this same problem recently and thought i needed to get the tires balanced. I took it in and it turned out both front rims were bent. The streets in LA are notorious for potholes and have hit several of them at night and am sure that is what did it. Found a great place in North Hollywood that was able to fix them at 1/10th the cost the dealer wanted for replacement rims.
