Default Will the F sport intake pipe work on the stock airbox?

I know this sounds like a dumb question but my dealer told me that the F sport intake pipe will not work with the stock airbox. I know that the F sport airbox only changes the bottom piece as it retains the top piece, however does it change the position of the airbox at all so the pipe will not reach? I'm not really sure but i wanted to double check.

It bolts right on and is attached to the lid of the airbox. You can still run the stock lower box.

yeah it will fit/work. Your dealers probably trying to get a few more bucks out of you =P

With the stock airbox it just wont be as loud as the f-sport one.

That's what I thought but it is no longer the case. Sewell now sells the F Sport intake parts seperately. With the club discount Sewell sells the intake pipe for $111 whereas the JoeZ costs $125. It just make more sense to buy the F Sport now that the pipe is being sold seperately.

Well you can get the JoeZ polished too. That's not the point. The point of the Joe Z was that it's cheaper but this is no longer the case. JoeZ may need to lower his prices since the F sport is now more appealing.

I just logged onto their site and I did not see were you can just buy the intake pipe. I only sawe you can buy the filter and the lower part of the intake box for 120.84 or the whole system for 308.74. What am I missing here? So if thats the case, I can piece a fsport intake together for around 230$

yes it fits, but the fsport air box has an extra entry point in front for more air to get in i guess.

It's there. You need to scroll down and look for Service Parts - Cold Air Intake. There is no picture of the air intake - only the F-Sport logo. Once you click on there you can pick and choose what part you want. You can choose the following: filter, air box, tube, do not oil sticker and emissions sticker.

Awesome find my95tsi!!! I may just pick this up but do have a question - does the filter make a difference? Currently have a brand new OEM filter (just put in 2 weeks ago). How big a difference does the filter make?

No the filter won't make a difference until it gets dirty. The F sprot filter you can just clean and reuse where the stock filter you just throw away and buy a new one. The F sport filter flows more but will you notice a difference? Likely not.

I should mention that i just found out from Sewell today that the pipe does not include the hardware meaning the clamps and rubber couplers, it's just the pipe. The hardware is an extra $33 dollars. The hardware is not listed directly as an option to buy you have to search for the part number. The part number for the hardware package is PTR03-53084. I asked why this is the case and it's because they offer these parts seperately for warranty purposes and they are not meant to be purchased seperately.

So in the end the Joe Z is cheaper but not much cheaper. The reason i'm going F sport is because they have the parts in stock whereas the Joe Z is on back order and they do not know when they will be available.

Thanks for the heads up on the parts! Saved me a headache if I ordered and saw no clamps or couplers!

Yes, it fits. You can just dremel a hole in the lower intake box if you want the sound.

So, if you piece the F-sport intake system together your looking at around 265 bux for the intake tube, filter, lower intake box and hardware. Thats like 50 bucks cheaper then buying the full kit. Am I wrong here am i missing some parts I didnt add? GREAT FIND my95tsi
