Do I just need a new grille or do I need the surrounding trim also?
Hi All,
So a few days after my driver-side AFS HID stopped working, looks like someone with a trailer hitch decided to back into my 2008 IS250 AWD today. Left about 5 marks on the bumper, 2 of them pretty deep, destroyed the license plate frame... and the upper grille.
The emblem seems to be intact, so I've started searching for a new upper grille (no P/C system). However, I'm unsure if I need a new chrome surrounding trim for the grille. I see there's broken tabs on the bottom where the grille and the trim meet, but I'm unsure if that's part of the grille or the trim. Does anyone know? I've included a picture of the damage:
Thanks for any help in advance!
Cheers,
Kermee

Going to fix the scratches and dents a bit later but man... That weatherstripping was a PITA (after removing the front engine-bay cover). I ended up breaking/losing two of the tabs out of the 10 or so, but I learned it was easier just to remove the plastic tabs from the weatherstripping by wiggling it out and then using small needle-nosed pliers to pull the plastic tabs out. Then do it in reverse.
One of the two tabs on the bottom of the grill (the physical tabs on the bumper) was destroyed. Though the remaining tab on the bottom and the tabs on the sides survived.
Cheers,
Kermee
P.S. ... New problem... *BOTH* of my HID lights stopped working so to the dealership for Warranty Work
