Default Plasti-dipping 20" Vossens for the winter?

I'm thinking of plasti dipping my 20" Vossens for the winter, then peeling it off in the spring. I already have all seasons on them and my girl has an FX35 which we take snowboarding and use when it snows bad anyway. I just know I'll be driving in salty sandy slush sometimes and I don't feel like cleaning them twice a week when its gross and cold out. Any one have any insight or advice as to why this isn't a good idea? Otherwise, I think I'll do it this weekend.

i think this topic has been beating to death already. the plastic dip is not a hard coating. it will work well on small thing but for the wheels, i bet it will come off in a matter of weeks.

Yea That wouldnt last at all...if rock chips can take powder coating off then they will sure go to town on the dip.....bad idea...buy some stock wheels and put those on for the winter...best bet there

After watching that one guy peel the coating off in the other thread, I don't think it would get destroyed. I'm not saying it would be PERFECT, but I bet it would hold up on 95%-98% of the rim over the winter. I may just try it...

its definately a unique idea, but why not jus ride on your stocks for the winter, or maybe save up for a pair of cheap winter wheels.

i put plasti dip on a portion of my lip that i scraped(powder coated matte black so the original polished lip really stands out, couldn't stand it) thinking it would be a quick fix but its looked more like a permanent fix. its nighttime and no light but i'll try and take pictures of it tomorrow so you can see.

its been on for months and months.... i think maybe 4 now? i wash it every weekend and use an air compressor on the wheels to blow out the water. and its still on there just fine.
