Over the 8 years of owning my IS350, I lived in areas where it got to 110 degrees in the summer. My panels are perfectly fine. It can not simply be a climate issue.

Can I ask what states? It seems to affect mostly Florida and southern state cars, so I'm wondering if it's the combination of humidity with heat.

It's not the warm weather. The panels made after 08-09 are fine. I've come across a few Maserati owners who have the same complaint about 00-06 models of their cars.

I would suggest that you go to dealership and speak to them, I just got my dash and doors replaced. The rep I spoke to said Lexus is aware of this issue and it's a case by basis of the replacement.

Default Yeah It's the 2006 models

I live in NJ for the first 3 years I owned my car it was garaged, the last 6 i have parked it outside in the development I live in and the dashboard has become sticky, cracking, and is now fragile to the touch in the cold weather. It seems as if it's more an early model problem much like the engine recall that applied to the '06 models. I haven't used any harsh cleaners and have taken great care of my car it's just the interior black paneling is slowly falling apart.

Speaking from experience, DOG HAIR MAKES IT 100x WORSE. If you are having sticky dash issues, dog hair sticks to it like crazy and annoying to remove

As far as I can tell, this seems to only effect cars that were early MY2006 builds and imported through Florida.

Default 06 Lexus IS potential harmful, toxic contaminants

Shortly after I bought my 2006 IS350 from Pembrook Pines Mercedes in south Florida in 2013. The dash and door panels were a little soft but not too bad. I drove it home to Tallahassee. Then when the warm weather came they became so soft and sticky as if it were tar. Unless occupants were very careful, this tar would get on their clothes, hands and under their fingernails when opening or closing the doors, and when pushing the start button. Has anyone had this material analyzed for potential harmful, toxic contaminants?

I believe I have the most damaged dashboard. I take care of my car though .

Also the doors tops are scuffed little bit . Specially when I got a tint installed . They are so sensitive and made of poor quality ****ty materials.

thanks lexus

Your tint person is bad and should have replaced the parts for you.

I have an appointment on the day after christmas to have my car evaluated for the fuel pump sensor recall, as well as the windshield wiper nut recall. I mentioned to the guy about toyota fixing the door panels now, so they're going to look into that too while my car is there. Hope it works out. They replaced my dash mat a few years ago, so that should set a historical precedent to justify the replacement if they push back.
