Default Changes in Projector lens type of is250

Hi all,

I was always wondering if the is250 projector lenses have been changed in the last few years and i finally think to have an answer.

A friend of mine with a 2006 is250 had an accident a few months ago, so he just replaced 1 of the units. This one seems to have the Clear lens type instead of the ribbed/foggy/misty lens type, which is used in the 2006.

In the past, I have installed aftermarket HID on a 2007 is250 and find the cutoff and output of the light better than my 2006 with hid's.

So the conclusion might be that all 2006 got the foggy style projectorlenses and the 2007+ got the more clear lens type.

The difference should be like this:

The difference should be like this:

1. I can tell you right now that you're wrong. '06-'08 lenses are the same, 'foggy' onces. [dont know about 09+]

2. you will find the cutoff better with a clear lens. what i mean by better is sharper cutoff, but the output will be the same; the yellowish color remains. I know this for a fact cuz i recenty changed out my lenses with the STi-R clear onces(http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...products_id=85) and believe me, sooooooo not worth the trouble.

Look at the pic in this thread. It is clearly not clear (no pun intended). THe replacement is also not clear. Please takes some pics of the clear type.

If you put the STi R lense on the ISX50 Projector, the cutoff will be clean, I mean clean, (if you space it right) but you definitely wont get that blue cutoff due to the projector design. It's not good.

It might be that replacement parts are using clear lenses?

No one has part numbers to verify they're different? I doubt they would be.

I have seen the difference, so i am 1000% sure that there are 2 kinds of lenses. But as IDC said, he checked the new cars and they are equiped with clear lenses, so I am sure lexus did the swap in the past.

2006 is for sure fresnel, and I believe that they switched it into clearlenses somewhere in 2007
