^ I just thought it would be nice poetic justice, death by unrecalled egg.

People who do this sort of thing are usually poor and stupid. Take solace in the fact that these people almost certainly will never drive a car as nice as yours. Unfortunately, driving a "prestige" luxury car like a bmw, benz, lexus, audi, etc. will inevitably draw this sort of attention.

I had my car broken into - passenger side window was totally smashed in, the shards of glass scratched up the passenger side leather. And for what? A stolen backpack with a book titled "foundations of neurophysiology" and some loose leaf paper.

The sad part is the ingrate who stole my book: 1) Won't even be able to read it given that it's a medical school-level textbook and

2) Won't be able to sell it to anybody because nobody's going to buy such a technical book.

I've fixed cars that have been egged many times. It needs sanded down, primed, and painted. It won't polish out. You will have to pay your comp deductible if you run it through insurance. Sorry this happened to you. Makes me sick just to look at it.

Well the damage is cosmetic and it won't get any worse if you don't fix it. Personally I'd probably wait until I had another reason to visit a body shop and then get it taken care of. If you do opt to fix it be sure that you are going to a quality shop. A bad paint job will look worse than egg shell cracks. You should also keep the pics of the damage so when it comes time for resale you can show that the paint work wasn't from accident damage.
