Depends how low you will be driving. If you want no wheel gap or lower, you'll need a roll with natural slight pull and you'll need to relocate the bumper/fender tabs.

In the rear.. you'll also need to do a roll but you wont have to pull depending on tire size.

I just have a quick question. There is a set of used wheels/tires I am looking to purchase but first I need to know if it will fit. I have a 07 is250 awd dropped on tein s tech springs. They are 18x8.5 +25 all around wrapped with 225/35/18. I don't mind if I have to roll my fenders. The offset is really bugging me since its +25. Thanks in advance!!

So I have broken down and decided to post up a question since I cant find an answer while looking through 200 pages. I have an IS 250 AWD and I am going to run 20x9 and 20x10.5 in the rear. Can I run 245/30/20 fronts and 275/30/20 rears? Its a .7in difference and I have herd that it should work on our cars. Ive seen a lot of people running the 285/25/20 setup but the tires are ridiculously priced. Ive even thought about running a 265/30/20. Any suggestions?

Fitment question, I've read this thread numerous times and have a specific question. I'm pretty sure I shouldn't have an issue running the following set up.
F: 19x8.5 +35
R: 19x9.5 +35

I am lowered on H&R springs (1.5" drops f/r).

Will I need any fender work, or have any running and what tires would you recommend?

I just Installed 20x9 and 20x10.5in wheels this morning on my AWD IS. Fronts are 245/30/20 and the rear are 275/30/20. and lowered on 2in Road Magnet springs. I went with the 275/30s becaus the tires are waaaay cheaper and im only .7in off. The car looks good but the back rubs bad in the rear. I am going to have the fenders rolled tomorrow and hopefully I shouldn't have any more issues.

These were already on an is250 but it wasn't AWD.

My current car (stock): 225/45/17 tires (all around)

Wheels I want: Velgen VMB8
Front: 20x9 +35
Back: 20x10.5 +45
want to get front: 235/30/20
want to get back: 275/30/20

If this won't work, do you think i should get the same wheels but 235/30/20 all around or 225/30/20 all around?

You should PM bob4256. He can help with fitment, specifically with the Velgen wheels. I think a 30 series profile might be too big.. from what I remember, a 20 series tire works best.. but don't quote me on that.


EDIT: Actually I just saw his post on IG lol. I looked into it using this calculator: http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-Size-Calculator

It turns out that the difference in wheel diameter between the front and rear is about 4%, which is high IMO.. it could cause expensive problems in the long run, and lowering the car in addition to running those tire sizes could cause problems earlier rather than later.

You can always buy the setup, then sell the tires and buy new ones?

If you're dead set on 265 in the rear, I would suggest 225/35 up front and 265/30 in the rear. The difference in rolling diameter between the two is only .24% compared to using 235/35 up front, which is .87%. Not a huge difference, but I would minimize the risk as much as possible.

Please take note that my wheels are 10.5 in the rear with a +43 offset, and I'm running 275/30s. I think your wheels would be less aggressive than mine by about 4-5mm. On my setup, there is no rubbing whatsoever, and my fenders have not been touched yet. I'm lowered on BC coilovers to maybe 1/4 finger gap in the rear. The natural camber is just enough to ensure that if I do hit a bump, the tire doesn't hit the fender. With that said, my fronts are 8 wide with a +37 offset, and have 235/35 mounted on them. They rub on turns and dips at the same 1/4 finger gap, but it's just the fender liner.

Have a few questions.. This year i bought rims for my 08 Lexus is250 AWD. I wanted to stay close to OEM specs.

Ended up getting 19*8.5's with Toyo Proxes 4 plus 255/30/ R19's +35 offsets all the way around.

The tire shop i went to had the rims i got in stock which saved me ordering a new set in (avoid the wait and all).

What the guy didn't tell me was that these rims are a half inch wider then my stocks (8.5 rather then 8).

So when i got my rims and seen that the tires were 255's i was kinda pissed off. It wasn't what i asked for but i figured i'd deal with it as the car seemed to drive just fine. After driving it for a while i realized it definitely drove differently. When reversing to the left there is a rub coming from the front left. (nothing serious) however definitely noticeable. When turning the wider front tires are definitely noticed in the steering column (kind of like the tires walk a little bit during turning - anyone who has this kind of set up will know what i'm talking about) I currently have my stocks on as my winters and this feeling has since gone away with the not so wide tires.

Here is my dilemna.. In the spring i want to get some BC racing coilovers to lower my car about an inch (somehwere in the 25 3/4 -26 ground to fender height area)

Being that there is already a small rub in the front left when reversing.. and having this "walking" feeling on turns with the wider front tires.. Will a 1 inch drop or so make that feeling even worse?!

I didn't think that 30mm (verses a 225 stock tire) would make a huge difference in the turning. This really pisses me off knowing that the guy didn't tell me the rims were a half inch wider meaning he ordered the 255's to fit them without saying shi*t all to me.

Need some help here. Will a 1 inch drop on coils with an alignment be alright with that set-up?! obviously that rub will get worse - will it make it a lot harder on the steering controls being an inch lower with the wider tires already labouring during turns?!

Being that the rims i have are 8.5's could i just switch the tire to a slimmer size?! I don't like that way my car turns with the 255's on the front. I don't want to run staggered so i would switch all 4 to the same size. Could i stretch a slimmer tire to the 8.5" rim?!

I really don't know what to do here. I don't mind spending money to have my car drive the way its supposed to. Again in the spring i want to get coilovers and drop it an inch (don't wanna go to low with the awd). I just don't know whether to say puck it and sell everything rims and tires and all (in which case i would almost certainly lose money) or have the tires changed --- or do i just buy new rims and tires and keep my tpms..

That's your biggest problem right there. Had you brought the issue to their attention immediately, you wouldn't have had any issues with getting the tires swapped to the sizes you wanted. Now, since they have been used, you may not be able to return them. Buuut with that said..

That's pretty stupid of the tech not to mention that the wheels are wider and that he was going to order wider tires because of that, but its possible that he may have done that on purpose to get rid of current stock. I don't know why else he would have put 255s on the front when the OEM width is 225.

I'd go back and raise hell. And for future reference, look at what you're buying before you pay for it.

For the rubbing, its probably the fender liner that you're rubbing on, and yes it will get much worse, especially with a tire that wide up front. I'm lowered about 2-2.5 inches, and I get that rub at full lock turns with a 19x8 +37 235/35 setup. Your wheel setup is more aggressive and your tires are much wider.. You'd probably experience major rubbing issues even just an inch lower.

Go back and raise hell.

so im biting the bullet and putting on my 18x9.5 +15 mb battles on my awd is250. thinking of a good tire size. maybe 215/40 or 225/40. it will be at stock height for a couple weeks because i don't quite have time to put my coil overs on yet but what tire size would anyone recommend?
