I'd like to see some pics of peeps running 19s and 20s on AWD that aren't dropped just to see if it looks strange with the huge gap on the AWD model.
Stock diameter is 24.97" (225/45/17)... I keep reading that you shouldn't run plus size tires that are more than 3% bigger than stock diameter tires/wheels (which the max would equal 25.719"). And that AWD models should be running with the same diameters & offsets. Obviously with people running staggered set ups on the AWD, this standard has been debunked if the difference is close. I'm curious if the max of 25.719" is a myth too. What is biggest diameter you can run without cutting/modifying the wheel well (say I am running 19s or 20s that are 8" or 8.5" wide as I know the width would make the difference in rubbing when the wheel is turned)? I'm basically looking for the biggest wheel I can get without a drop on an AWD. Thanks.

K3mani -- I'm still rolling stocks. Still waiting for people to post pics and info that are non-staggered w/ no drop. My biggest concern now is offsets. Stock AWD offsets are 45mm all around...not sure if we can get away with different offsets in the front and back or if it would potentially mess something up, or can we run the same offsets all around that are less than 45mm?

I have the same questions, but to be more specific:
1) Until I lower the suspension, what are the max wheels/tires (non-staggered & staggered) that can be used without rubbing?
2) What affects does lowering have on performance, gas mileage, etc...? Or does it only affect handling, noise & comfort?
3) Has anyone already dropped their AWD with coilovers? If so, can you fill me on the basics (price, required parts, best brand, etc..)
I appreciate all the help in advance. This forum is great! If a vet can give me a crash course on this, I would really appreciate it. I'm an old 1998 Accord moder looking to really modify my new lexus without sacrificing stock performance too much.

Hi all, same delema as a lot of AWD drivers... so hopefully I can find some answers. Unfortunately for you I do not have answers!
Bought 2011 IS 350 and am looking to replace the weak OEM 17"... So I am thinking of what I need to do to get a nice flushed look for either 8.00 or 8.5" rims. I am assuming that given the stock 8" rims are 45mm that an 19"X8 after market can go down to 35mm offset on the front and by a lot more in the rear as the body is built for a staggered set-up.
I am not going to get staggered so will probably address the front to rear offset discrepency with spacers (15-10mm added to the rears.)
Ride height will be lowered by 1" with f-sport springs...

lookin to run 20x8.5 30mm 245/35/20 front and 20x10 38mm 285/30/20. diameter difference is only .08%, but my question is will this fit and not rub?

I know this setup will work, but if i lower it with BCR coils for a conservative drop nothing crazy will i rub or need to roll my fenders?
