Anyone have damage from bike rack?
So I need to mount a bike rack for mt. biking. I have a Yakima rack and attempted to install it last night. I found that when I go to close the door, the roof clamps interfere with the door gasket. MOre importantly, they are very close to the chrome trim around the door, I'm afraid if I shut the door too hard then the interference will cause some damage.
Anyone have this issue on their Yakama rack?
Additionally, what about the integrity of the door seal over time? I didn't want to take this off and on all the time, but I'm concerned if the door gasket bulges, then over time it takes a permanent set.
I also heard some people have put down some clear bra material under the feet to prevent scratching so I intend to do that as well.
I have thought about a hitch, but from the pics I saw it looks too bulky and wouldn't fit well considering I have an Ings style rear bumper skirt.
