Def gonna test drive one and see... Chicago winters are tough... Snow tires did great last year but if I move in with my girlfriend she hates driving my car in the winter so I may "look" at one.. we'll see how it performs

I can already tell you... it'll be slower, heavier, and get worse mileage than the RWD one, and if you're smart enough to put good snow tires on in the winter (as it appears you are) you won't gain much for all those negatives.

i dont get why people would want a 350 in AWD...all that extra power thats not in a 250 will do absolutely nothing for you when youre stuck in the snow...or mud...or whatever. theres a reason they waited this long to make a 350 AWD. They wanted to know for sure if there were enough schmucks out there to buy a 350awd over a 250awd to make their quota. 99% of all 250awd IS's are driven by people who arent going to mod their car. so they waited to hear all the "I wish the 350 had an AWD option" e-mails...and sure enough, theres enough to gauge interest.

Like Kurtz... I'm sticking with the RWD.

That's the same reason why I got the RWD250 instead of AWD. Plus, I think the gear ratios are different as well.

Actually, will the sports suspension be the same? I was looking at BMW 335's before I got my IS 350, but there were quite a few people commenting that the x (AWD) version was significantly worse due to not being able to have the sports suspension (got the 350 because the 335's maintanence was killer!)

up here in alaska, having AWD goes a long way. i love my 250awd, but i sure wouldn't mind the extra 100 ponies that comes with the 350, while still being able to get around during the 6 months of the year that we're buried in snow.

but wouldnt an AWD 350 be slower than the RWD version? Heavier and drive train loss = eventual loss to a RWD 350?

autobox awd 350 vs. autobox rwd 350 = doesnt seem to calculate with me.....if awd is wat u're looking for then what is wrong with the g sedan....they seem to offer way more options in both cosmetics, performance, tech options, and tranny......

it doesnt seem like a better buy imho.....it almost sounds as if lexus baiting ppl for a rape. and bobby is right last time i checked awd would make it slower and heavier thus defeating the purpose of buying a 350 in the first place.....

suburu,g35 hell even audi vs. awd 350 it would seem like u'd get more bang for ur buck with the subi or the G.
