For those that don't want to go full-custom, get the 4080 box (http://www.4080enclosures.com/shop40...sp?idProduct=9), a JL 12w6v2 powered by a 500/1 (or HD750/1) and remove the ML sub to promote venting into the cabin. Bam, done.

well the volume under 50 doesn't mean much if you have the volume on your ipod all the way up.

i keep the stereo at max volume and ipod about 4/5 turned up, ipod on Rock eq and +2 treb +3mid and +5 bass on the stereo (or whatever max is)

been doin this for 2+ years and shes goin strong.

Actually I don't use the iPod anymore, I use a Sandisk Fuse, because it sounds better with the custom EQ. When I did use the iPod I set volume at max and the ML's volume at 50 max with no problems and it seems to sound better. Also I liked the "Deep" EQ setting better.

ok so now I gotta take back everything I said in this thread. I decided to check my crossover frequency that the audio shop set everything too. it was at 80 hertz, the same freakin frequency I was trying to go past.

So I bumped it up to about 110 and Im catching all of my music. However, because my ML sub is still hooked up ( bass -1, mid 3, treble 3) i was able to hear it DISTORTING at ALL volume levels.

Yup, my sub is blown. I didnt even know it until I got back there and had my head in the trunk. I guess I could get Lexus to replace it, but I might just remove it completely this time.

This would be covered under the 100k extended warranty, right? mines certified preowned.

Yup, should be covered by your bumper-to-bumper warranty.

If you use the line level inputs directly from the ML system, the frequencies have already been adjusted to only provide between 30-80 hertz I believe.

Basically you'll have LARGE gaps where the bass doesnt exist, then hits INCREDIBLY hard in the low range.

As I'm more of a sound quality guy this was a big issue that STILL isnt fully resolved in my opinion for me. My audio shop set the frequency crossover after the cleansweep and I still htink its too low. I'm missing the high bass notes.

I think I'll add an additional aftermarket 8" (in conjunction with the 12") to blend the upper frequency bass with the low.
Are you using the CL-SSI (signal summing) in conjunction with the CL441 CleanSweep?

ML subs sucks, and no you cant put no aftermarket subs in its place, the problem with the sub is that is paper it dont get blown just in hot days the glue gets out and the paper comes of and it make it sound like is blown, i removed the ml sub and put 2 8inch subs in the trunk best sound ever
