Alright, Im pretty new hear and was thinking my Ventilated seats were not cooling me off enough. I Live in Arizona and the temp out today was 114.

I used the Search and found a few people that said to turn on A/C to the lower and the Vents that are for the back seat foot area would help put cooler air where the fan intake is.

I went out into my garage and looked below the seat.I noticed that the air just gets pushed past the seat vent intake.



I looked around my garage and found a piece of cardboard.



Place the cardboard so that is is right in front of the vent, pushing up to the intake. You can also push the edges around the intake.



This is what it looks like from the front




The results were AWESOME. My seats got COLD very fast. Almost too cold!

The cardboard cannot be seen at all when sitting in the seat. The area is very tight, but if you move the seat forward enough it is easy to do. Took my less than 5 minutes, and after 2-3 minutes of driving you will have a cold seat. I did this for both front seats.

For extremely cold seats turn the lower vents only at max level!

I am keeping my eyes open for a better way, maybe a hose of some sort to extend the vent straight to the intake . But this will do for now.

Thought I would share so the rest of you can have some colder seats!

good idea, but sucks if you have rear passengers. better solution? put ice down your pants. ICE COLDDDDD.

Haha, I was thinking about rigging something to only take half the air. But I don't usually have more than 1 person in my car. If I do, they still have the vents on the back of the console.

Just did this "mod" and it works like a charm. Even without the seat fan on. Great find! While not 114, it does get quite hot here in Dallas.

yeah maybe something like a metal sheet or even some non porous cloth to add refinement to the idea.

Ghetto rigging is the best. I actually am surprised I didnt use duct tape. I use that crap on everything.


I will update this with a better version when I do it. Then I will have the Ghetto mod/Legit Mod.


But in the meantime I will have cold *****.

nice mod! I will def have to do this. One question - when you guys set your AC fans to the front lower vents, do you get cold air on the driver's legs? I looked briefly, but didn't see any vent openings down there. The pass side blows cold as ice, but nothing on my side

I drove with sandals on for the first time today, The Floor vent is there, I think it was more left of the brake pedal, maybe where a clutch would be on a 6mt. Seemed like they were tucked up high

Great idea.

i looked at my IS and ES today and will give it a try in a couple of days, but will try it a bit differently.

I plan to pick up some aluminum vent tubing, ~2" diameter. There are 2 floor vents on the IS and 3 on the ES. If I flaten and snip a bit I should be able to get a pretty snug fit around one of the vents. The other end I can open up and fan out up towards trhe seat fan. Might need a small bit of duct tape to hold in place, but itshouldn't be noticeable. I would think one vent should be adequate and the other vent(s) would cool the rear seat.
