i got my new IS 250 6 weeks ago and i was thinking the same i took it home lift the hood and and the car was idle thought to my self WTF this clicking noise took it to the dealer same day he said come here started 2 more lexus same model new and same noise then i felt ok.

so i guess you can call it bad design or something you have to live with noise for the injector's

so all in all noise when idle driving i do not hear it well car is more like sound proof heheheheh

It's not "bad design"

It's inherent to direct injection.

That's why diesels have sounded that way for decades.

As do all the gasoline engine cars using direct injection that lexus and a slew of other car makers are now moving to.
