Colleen, it will mess with the clear coat no matter what. will it be 2 months or 10 years, the fact is it will still yellow, and will never look like paint (Glossy) . Yes i have seen Don and Harrys work. Was there today as a matter of fact.
Vinyl will never touch paint. "Nuff said " Im biased lol. If you ever get a chance take alook at edges and corners. We dont have that problem with paint.

Im teasing you colleen <3. But still Paint > Vinyl Any day. Im a perfectionist. I dont like ruff crumbly edges.
Actually, your the only one disagreeing with what i had to say. Ill tell you what, Next chance i get ill snap a picture of 2 IS's one with wrapped roof, one with painted side by side just for you. Late-Evening time of course, so you can visually see what im talking about

Mainly that vinyl looks matte. Unless put side to side and compared, there isnt much of a visual difference. When you put it side to side and compare it you can see that painted looks shiny-er (not to the point where it makes vinyl look matte) and that the edges arent as good. Thats all.

Ive seen alot of HDs work. They do an exceptional job. Pricey, but really good. Its just the edges like ive said before. Even on dons car, the edges around the fenders are wrinkly... Sucks his car got hit my a ricer shopping cart btw

^you can order film from aerotect or 3M. My friend actually wanted to do my roof last week, I believe he used a 5ft roll (in length) and maybe 5ft (in width) as well. Good luck, and yes if it DOES eat away the clear coat or yellows it you can always sand the surface off and have it clear coated again. But both paint and vinyl looks good, but of course I love vinyl because my friend owns a shop and I have a few pieces on my car =p
