^^ Only thing that sucks other than the added weight of AWD, is that darn hump near the accelerator pedal

That, and the fact that the IS350 AWD costs $2500 more than the IS350 RWD.

Nevertheless, glad to see it as an option for people who can't do without AWD.

Right. That's why all-seasons suck. Use summer performance tires in the summer, and SNOW tires in the winter. Just like most folks have for the last 100 years without any problems in RWD cars. Even in Canada.
I actually averaged a 1.8 60' and even dipped into the 1.7s I barely spun.

Under 500 hp or so, with good tires and a competent driver, yeah.... since you won't gain anything from the increased traction of AWD but you'll be adding hundreds of hp to the car and increasing drivetrain losses.

The AWD GS350 for example is slower in both 0-60 and 1/4 mile than the RWD GS350.

I continue to maintain that for most situations AWD is just a performance and mileage robbing crutch for bad drivers who don't put the right winter tires on their cars.

If you barely spun (fixable with better tires) you'd be slower with AWD... see above for why.

I saw a F-sport IS350AWD on the road today... I can't believe no one has 1/4 times on it yet!!! Wondering how it will fair against the RWD!! I hear thoughts and speculations but I want to real deal? Anyone know this?

How will it do against a RWD 350? It'll be slower.

That's not speculation, that's physics.

Lexus lists a slower 0-60 time BTW... if you have any rational explanation for how AWD would help past 60 to make it magically catch up I'd love to hear it.

brake torque with better traction off the line would make an impact.

It really wouldn't since the IS350 isn't terribly traction limited.

That's why the 0-60 time is still better for the RWD model.

Now with 400-500 hp, then it'd start to make a difference... but the 2IS doesn't have that sort of power.

(and that's assuming common street tires... with race tires the AWD car does even worse in the comparison)

Was it the F sport package or just all of the accessories in the F line?
