$150 would be the retail price. I bought mine through a friend's employee discount and paid $105 for my densos.

It's fairly easy, though I got discouraged when I saw all the wires and everything else. It took me with the help of a friend about 30-40 mins.

Just have him buy the plugs with his employee discount, and buy him a case of beer to install them for you

I took my car in for a 60k check to my mechanic. After pulling out and visually inspecting the plugs, he said they were in very good condition and I wouldn't have to change them until 100k.

That is the same thing that I thought, the iridium plugs are good for 100k in other cars, but in THIS engine they are to be replaced at 60k...the Lexus maintenance book states this, so that is what you should follow...

LOL. Agreed. I'm at 62k, ordered the plugs from Sewell for around $80 and ready to install them. Feels better to just stick with what the manual says. I'll probably do them next weekend. Wish me luck!

How did the install go? I want to purchase them ahead of time so can just for the install when it is time. How does the car respond differently, better since changing the plugs?

Guys...I'm sort of a newbie when it comes to the mechanics of cars, and my IS250 is approaching the 60K mile mark. Will I see a noticeable difference in performance by replacing the plugs?

Also, if I purchased via sewell on my own, could I still take to a dealer and have them install my plugs, or will they give me the run around, talking about how they can't "guarantee" the work because it's not coming from them? Thanks.

Dealer will probably charge you 150 or more for labor. I would take it to an independent mechanic that specialize in Lexus and he'll do it for 60 to 100 bucks.

Also I know these spark plug last about 100K, but they say 60K in the Manuel to be safe side and you should do it to be safe as well. My dad sells imported auto parts for a living.
