Sigh, I have the worst luck when I'm out of town
I always seem to get pulled over when I leave San Jose. I just got pulled over and cited near Vacaville on the way to Davis for tinted side windows. My other tickets were in Westminster for 80 in a 65, and in the middle of nowhere Central California for 81 in a 65. I've never been even PULLED over in San Jose, where I do the vast majority of my driving. It's always some trip out of town.
Anyone know how much the citation is going to be? I thought the legal limit in California was 35% for the side windows (not that it matters, I have 20% all around). Cop didn't say anything about them being too dark, he just said tinted side windows.
And, anyone know of a good place in the south bay to get them removed for the citation? And possibly re-done a bit lighter to avoid this again? I got it done for free from my uncle's friend, but I feel really bad if I take it back and ask him to remove it because I already took it back once for bubbles, and he did all the work for free too. Thanks!

Actually from what I remember, you can't have tint on your front side windows at all. I'm surprise they pull you over just for a tint ticket, but it seems they're doing it that more often now a days since the state is broke.
Before, you only get a tint ticket if you get pull over for a major violation like speeding.

just got my tint ticket fixed yesterday. from downtown sj, got the ticket in fremont. they didn't even look at my plate or vin, some lady just came out of the police station in fremont and signed my ticket. i regret spending the 40 bucks to get the front tints removed. i go to mr. tint for this thing in santa clara, they took my fronts off for 40 bucks and i'm sure they'll give you a good deal to put them back on. if i were you, find someone with a stock 250 or 350 whatever and switch your plates just in case, it will get signed off guarenteed, literally will take 5 minutes.
