Nope (since there aren't any electronic defects)

It's showing the number of unintended acceleration incidents, without regard to cause.

The fact that it skews by age is one of the many bits of evidence that it's not an electronics problem, since electronics don't discriminate by age.

People pressing the wrong pedal and blaming the car however is likely to skew by age. Just like the BS unintended acceleration stuff with Audi in the 80s... driver error.

Brought the car in for oil change last Friday and the advisor told me about the pedal recall. I got the sport pedal which they replaced. Feel the same if not the wife thinks it actually feel smoother than before then again she rarely gets to drive my car
Also got the all weather floormats replaced as well. The ones with IS on it

You can opt out, which I did. I like the look of the older pedal, and I don't want the computer interfering anymore than it already is.

did they ask you to sign a waiver when you opt out? did they keep hassling you to try and get you to change your mind?

It's your car, you can always refuse the work.

The details of what they do is in the full PDFs posted earlier in this very thread... right here in fact:

it's whatever you had before the recall, just shorter and (IMHO) uglier.

You got your all-weather floormats replaced for free? Is that part of the recall?

If you have the rubber pedal... you get a revised rubber pedal..

If you have the aluminum pedal... you get a revised aluminum pedal.

They will replace the 2 front all weather mats with 2 updated front mats, if they see that you have the older version mats which are part of the safety update..

My car didn't come stock with sport pedals either, but i mentioned on the phone that i had bought them from the dealer, but never had them installed. They said they would install ALL the sports pedals for me, plus give me the new sport pedal as well.

Joe,

I purchased the parts online and installed it myself.

I have the same aluminum pedal as to the ones that are equipped from factory.

If upon inspection showing i have the same pedal, would i still be covered?

Same as for the floor mats as well.

TIA!

I'm getting this done tomorrow morning. We shall see what I end up with. I have the all-weather mats and the lady on the phone said they would be replaced. Plus I get a tank of gas for the "inconvenience".....well I'll take that for sure....time to floor it the rest of the day...burn off that gas.... (I'm kidding, wasting gas is bad.....unless you are having fun)
