Default IS350 Spark Plug Change...Toyota told me 100k miles

So I went into a toyota dealership to get my 06 IS350 spark plugs changed since I'm at 60k miles and after dropping my car off they said they pulled the spark plugs and they are iridium so they last 100k miles. I said the manual says change at 60k and they said even if it does the spark plugs in my car are good for 100k so it would be a waste? They were vary sure sounding. Any idea if Toyota or the Lexus manual is right?

Iridium spark plugs are 100k plugs, but you'll want to check them occasionally to see if they are worn.

If i were you, I'd change them. It's only 20 bucks. I rather spend that 20 bucks on the plug then spending it fixing a cylinder.

The people who actually built the car (Lexus) say it's 60,000 miles.

I'd probably take their word for it.

You can run them until your gas mileage starts to suffer. It's the first indication the plugs are going bad. Usually you'll get a rough idle and you'll lose 10 - 15% on fuel mileage. Scion says 100k on their plugs. The wife's tC started rough idling at 105k, so they're pretty accurate on the 100k thing. You might make it to 65k, and you might make it to 100k.

Keep in mind the Toyota wrenches aren't seeing direct injection engines, so there may be a significant difference in spark plug life.

i tell you.. change it at 60k. i'm at 65k and i've lost gas mileage and I noticed the car isn't as smooth while at idle either. maybe it's just me. who knows. 60k for sure

^^ remove engine cover
remove throttle body
change spark plugs. lol

it's not hard at all when you look at it.. it's literally in your face

What website?

Because lexus.com says 60,000 miles for the OEM spark plugs on the 2IS.
