Default What would you do if you were in my shoes?

So my CL fam I need your views and thoughts on this decision I am bout to make. I am just trying to see what a majority of people would do if you guys were in my shoes so I am not being crazy

I bought a 08 250 about 6 months ago used with about 15000miles on it, Its very nice I love it and the mod bug hit me the 2nd day so till this day i spent about $9000 on aftermarket stuff. But the thing is its kinda slow. At first hp dint matter cuz I am stuck in traffic everyday to work so I dint care about hp just loved the luxury but now I feel like its too slow for the looks lol. I put on about 24000 miles now. I would be getting aroud 25000 for a trade now.

Now, my question is should I trade my car for a used 07 350 around my milage, the advantage is 100hp and I would be swapping all my aftermarket parts to the 350 and prolly pay about 2-3g's extra for the trade.
Should I trade it in for a IS-F and sell the parts and take a loss of atleast 4-5thousand dollars. I really love the F I can afford the payments now but am I being little to crazy for hp that I would not use everyday. What would you guys do if you are in my shoes.

A. Keep the 250 and enjoy the mods you have done and dont worry about extra 100hp speed that you dont need everyday.
B. Trade it for a 350 and I guess smoke the little guys that try to race u on streets.
C. Trade it in for a F and take a loss on aftermarket parts + $300 extra payment a month.

I have an IS250 too and ya I agree with you it is sluggish, especially when compared to my g35. I just put up with it tho because its not like Im a race car driver and I'd say the 250 saves me money by avoiding speeding tickets and the 2.5L engine gets better gas milage. Id say if you think its worth the extra power then do it because it appears youre not gonna be satisfied until you get a 350. IMO I think the ISF is overkill but if you got lots of money why not.

simple. If you have the cash get the IS-F

But i would test drive the 350 and is-f first. Maybe F is too much for your needs. On the other hand it sounds like you got the $ needed. So maybe be one of the few to Mod a IS-F?? if exclusivity matters to you.

im pretty sure you can at least take your wheels and put them on your new isf. when you get the 350 your gunna get bored and want more. so why not skip a step. remember, there is nothing to make our cars faster. unless you get nos. so just go big or go home. I have the money for an ISF but insurance for me isnt worth it, but as soon as it is, you best believe i will be driving one. i say get the F and dont have seconds thoughts about that you should have gotten one instead of a 350

and part the rest of your car to stock so the rest of us may enjoy

Test drive both the ISF and the IS350.. if you got the money.. then why not, but I test drove the 250 and 350.. I went with the 350.. Plus you got the mods already.. Think of what you can do with the extra 4k that you would be able to keep if you went with the 350.. but IMO.. I love my 350..

well if you can afford the F why not?

but the is350 will be more than enough hp you could use in a DD but forsure i would swap to an is350 if you decide not to swap to an F lol i agree the 250 is very sluggish

Thanks guys for you opinions I test drove both. lol I love both when I drove 350 I was like dang can i take this engine home and put in my 250 lol. When I drove the F i was like I want iiiiiiiittttttttt please.

Mv350 when I checked my insurance for a F they told me it will be only 10 extra dollars then what I pay now. I was like wow. This was half the motivation for me to get a F

But guys I am actually 23. I have a good job that pays decent. I am not rich or anything. The only thing is I dont have is any responsibilites yet like marraige, extra bills so I thought y not get a F. But I know that this not a good reason to waste money I should save but ughh I love the F. . I a victim of the saying "wants and needs"

Im in your same position, i have an 08 250, and it pains me that a friend of mine beat me in a drag in a toyota solara (an '09) i think. I test drove 335i's and IS-F's and dreamed of ways to fritter away my cash, but dont forget ALL your expenses will go up, pay more gas each month, more expensive tires, more expensive brakes, more expensive maintenance, and an additional 300$ a month is alot of booze money...But maybe you could find a used IS-F that was close to a reasonable price, or consider the BMW 335i's/M3's which are blasphemy here on CL forums i know, but they come (new) with the free maintenance plans, which might help keep your costs lower which is why i was considering the brand jump myself.

Any way you look at it, this will cost money to upgrade. But I see your concern, which is why I never considered the IS250/328 when shopping for a IS/3-series.

btw, an IS250 with 24K miles is not likely to generate $25K on trade, IMO (exception being, if they charge way too much for the IS350).

If your insurance is only $10 bucks more a month, and you can afford it, get the F. You Know you will want to get it later anyways, might as well get it now!

I am surprised that if you had the cash to dump 9k into the 250 that you didnt just do the 350 and spend 4-5 k on it for mods

^^The thing is the mods were about 7K. The paint, labor and installing came about 2k. But at that time IS350 was not even in my mind cuz my friend had a 250 and I was impressed by that and I really dint even think I would mod my car, but after joing CL lol my life turned around haha. But one thing I do get compliments where ever I go about my car. I am just waiting on my lip kit to be installed and I will post some nice pics..
