Though it depends where you are driving, thats rarely been an issue for me. I specifically downshift/leave my car in an appropriate gear for the speed I plan to carry when entering a turn, then manage the wheel with two hands, throughout, before easing into the throttle and accelerating, before needing to shift.

In fact, the same practice was mirrored in the 350 to achieve the same desired affect (limit gears, so that up-shifting doesn't occur at partial throttle through a turn).

The fun for either is simply delivered in different ways, but I happily drive both.

So what's the difference or pros and cons of paddle shifters vs. "Gear limiters"?
You, as the driver, have direct control over your gear selection with true shifters, whereas, you set the range of gears accessible to the car, with the ISx50s-- the shifting duties will still be carried out by the car. At best, you can trick the car into holding gears or downshifting with the limiter, but you have limited control over upshifts, especially when not at full throttle.

Most (not all) 3.5L V6's on the market today hover around 300 or more HP. Infiniti's 3.7L is 330HP and will soon be DI. Look for around 350HP from a 3.7L!!

IS350 is probably the most fuel efficient among the competitors. I drove from SJ to LA with one tank of gas .

The NISMO 370Z has 350HP!! Thats crazy from a NA V6!! Runs low 13's stock and i heard of some good drivers getting flat 13 or in the 12's!! Thats crazy!! And it really pisses off V8 drivers

Yes the -F is faster, but look at the cost difference to go that much faster (shaving another 2/3 second off the 0-60 time).

Yes, I agree. You get 95% of the performance for 20k less. Same with the 335 and M3.

F is nice and fast but brakes wear out too quickly. it will empty my wallet with stop and go traffic on my daily commute. 350 is fast enough.

my friends 1996 bmw m3 with only 240 HP feels way faster than the IS350. However, Is350 is faster than his m3 =D

It's a driver's race. I went even (really "won" technically if you consider the exact results) with an e46 m3 some weeks ago. You can see my write up in the stories/racing section.

But the thing is, I "won" (gained on him initially then maintained that gain) with the e46 m3 having an extra passenger in his car while I had none, so it's really really close.

But, in our defense, I had traction control on and it wasn't a perfect launch, so it's pretty close.

those m3's pull like demons up top... I raced one from 60 to 154 on I-10 ( yes i know thats bad!! i was 21 years old!! ) on my 06 350z. Perfect simultaneous take off and we were even until like 90... Then he just started pulling like crazy on me.. IMO the IS350 does not feel like it pulls hard up top..

Don't worry about it, I'm almost convinced that virtually all 18-25 year old males with sports cars go through this "too fast too furious" phase (I did too). I wonder if there are any guys who haven't been triple digits on the streets at least one point in their life.

Wait a minute I am 53 I still go triple digits but nothing past 130 mph after that things are too blurry, traffic gets crowded, and my heart medicine seems to loose its potency. I drive fast but do not drag race, the word is out on the IS 350 so there are not too many challengers and I do not like to bully those that I know really have no chance. I let them go ahead and let them feel like winners.

IS350 is relatively stealth-like considering it's power, just the way I like it.
