OEM 17s work fine on the 350, I have snow tires on a set of OEM 17s right now, and given my budget this spring I'll probably put a set of RE-11s on those same wheels. Many aftermarket 17s work fine as well. Eventually I plan on a set of 17x8.5 or 9 Enkei RPF-1s. I confrimed with one vendor that 17" RPF1-s work on an IS350.

Hey Guys,

I've got an 07 IS250 with IS350 big brake/caliper setup sitting on Stance coilovers with no finger gap all around, pretty much tucking tire on rear and a bit in front. I've been looking around for my first set of wheels.
I'm set on getting some Varrstoen ES7 but have a few questions regarding the specs. From what I can find for this particular wheel, anything around +22 offset and I'll need to get atleast 5mm spacers to clear the front brakes (according to the ebay description).

So I ended up finding the following specs that would work w/o spacers;
18x9.5 +12 (Front)
18x10.5 +15 (rear)

So I'm not very concious about Rim/Tire setups and was hoping CL could help me with a few questions.
1) Would these be too aggressive on my car and would anybody happen to have similar offsets and size of rim on their car that can post pics?

2) Kinda going back to question one, will I need crazy camber to make these offsets fit properly? I drive about 75 Miles a day and the less I have to worry about tires the better. According to the description I will need fender mods and camber, which is okay because my front and rear fenders have been already rolled. I have not had a set of wheels on my car other than OEM 18's so there is a chance I'll need to have this done again with any new set of wheels.

3) What size tires would be ideal to make these babys fit? I'm not too savvy with tire specs and don't want to stretch a tire to the max and want something that doesn't look 'hella flush' and appear to fit properly. Although a tiny bit of stretch I won't mind.

4) What factors do I need to consider with a 2" and 3" lips on these wheels? Does this mean they'll poke out of the tires more?

I bought a squared set of wheels 20x10 +44 (or were they 40?)

I've seen a few people with the same size and it seems to fit in the rear, but haven't found anything for the front.

Deegee... You drive your car as much as I do. If you're concerned about rubbing, tire wear and all that other stuff, I would not run such an aggressive offset. I'm running 18x9.5 et22 (215/40/18) and 18x9.5 et 12 (235/40/18) and the front rubs all the time. The rear rubs when there is a car full of people. I have my bumper tabs cut in the front and rear. I have a front camber kit set at 0 offset. The rears are set at -2. I've been able to put over 12k miles on this set of tires and there is no sign of uneven wear.

Those are very aggressive wheels. You can probably make them fit with quite a bit of fender work, stretched tires, and camber, but I think its much more work than you're willing to do.. You'll probably hate yourself daily-driving the car, especially if it's your first set of wheels. It's hard to get a nice size lip as well as fit a BBK in the wheel. I ended up removing my IS350 brakes in order to fit my current set of wheels.

Depends on your ride height, but at 10 wide up front with high offset, I'd be worried about inner clearance as well. It will probably rub like no other.

Thanks for your feedback. It sounds like I'm going to have to do alot of work to get these wheels to fit the way I want and even then, they may not be practical for the amount of driving I do.

I found some off their website with the following specs

18x9.5 +22
18x10.5 +22

Which may be more ideal for me going with a higher offset. After reading pages and pages of this thread It sounds like fendor roll (which has been done), slight pull, and possibly tab relocation for the fronts is in my future.

I just gotta call the vendor and see if these wheels (Varrstoen ES7) will clear my IS350 front brakes.

Pg. 239 DNA mentions that the best tires to go with these specs is 225/40-18 + 245/40-18 which sounds like it might be a bit of stretch, anybody got any photos of this setup at all? I'm curious how much stretch it'll be.

Also these indicate a hub of 73.1, What do I need to look out for to make sure this hub is compatible with my car (IS250) ?

I don't plan on going as low as that guy, maybe some lowering springs eventually. I just don't want to sell my 240 with those wheels on it and regret it later! They'd probably fit fine at stock height, but of course would look better with a drop.

Anyone else have any pics of 2IS on 18x9.5+15's?

Here is a pic of my 215/40/18 on a 9.5" wheel. I honestly don't think it's bad. Different tire brands run either a rounder or more of a square sidewall which will give you more or less stretch. I went with inexpensive Federal tires and so far I've gotten about 9k miles out of them without any uneven wear, but then again I am running the front camber kit.

Just went through my IG and noticed that in my previous wheel setups I did run an 18x9 and 18x10. I've had so many that I don't remember all the offsets but I'll see if I can get those for you later today.

Suggested tire sizes for 19x8.5 +26 / 19x10+34?

Do you think any fender mods will be needed?

Car is lowered 1.5" on Megan EZs.

-Those wheels are much more manageable. They're about 5mm more aggressive than my current setup. It'll take exactly what you said, a pull and definitely tab relocation to get the wheels to fit.

-Can't comment on the tire sizes as I've never had 18". if DNA says it'll fit, chances are you're safe with those sizes. Also, everything is highly dependent on your ride height too.

-You need a hub ring that has the inner size of 60.1mm (our hub size) and outer size of whatever hub size your wheel is (in this case, 73.1mm).

Gotcha, So this HUB ring business is new to me. All these rims I see are 73.1 HUB which appears to be the most common. None of these mention anything about hub rings being included... This something i need to purchase seperately?

Yea they're generally not included in buying aftermarket wheels because of the wide variety of hub bore sizes of different manufacturers' cars. Also, they're not exactly required to be able to mount the wheel on a car; they just help you in centering the wheel when you mount it. This minimizes the vibrations caused by a wheel not being centered on the hub bore when spinning. They're like 10 bucks (maybe not even that much).

I am looking at some used Volk CE28 19in rims. 19X8.5 front (+35) and 19X9.5 rear (+36). Guy is currently selling with some half worn 245/35/19 front tires and 275/30/19 rears. I am lowered about 1.5 inch and am a little worried that these will rub. What is the largest tires size that I can run without any rubbing or modifications?

You will probably want to go with 235/35 and 265/30 to be safe. The other sizes will work but you will need to at the very least roll the rears.
