Hmmm... I just realized that the 18x9's have an option for a +40 offset. I'm not sure, but coming out .84" sounds very aggressive (which pretty much means +25 is out of the question). Do you think +40 would be a better choice?
As for the front wheels, I think the only other option I have is to also use the 18x9 with a +40 offset up front... but that may also be a little too much. It would push it out about .7" I think... Plus, I don't know if the stock 225s would fit on 18x9's.

This is incorrect. Doing what you said (18 x 8.5/45 and 18 x 9/50) will only move the face of the wheel out 1/4" and would be closer but nowhere near flush. Remember offset is measured from the center of the wheel and using the same offset only pushes the wheel out by half of the 1/2" extra width. As for caliper clearance, that is more dependent on the design of the wheel and not so much the offset.

I don't want to run 9s up front (and I'm not even sure they'll fit), but they seemed like they might be my best bet for matching offsets.
They have an 18x8 wheel that has a pretty good offset... but it does not come in the right color. Also, the only two good 18x8.5 offsets are listed here.
To al503's point about wheel compromises, I'm all too familiar with how right you are. I've been struggling for the past few months trying to find a wheel that had the best combination of appearance, quality, and performance... Thought I finally found one, but now I can't seem to find the proper offset solution.

If you don't want to hassle with spacers and/or don't mind that your wheels aren't flush, then yes this setup would match fairly well and still look better than stock. If you plan on slamming your ride on the Tein coilovers then you may not want flush anyway.

A tire/wheel question - how wide can I go!
Forgive me for being alittle tire size & offset etc... illiterate! Since I have a awd I'm chicken to stager the wheels as others have done...
Between tire rack and different manufacture web sites, they show the OEM tire size of 225/45/17 at anywhere from 8.7" to 9.5" wide????
My question? What is the widest tire you can cram in the front of an 07 250 awd without rubbing... 10" or more?? The standard rim is 17x8 with 45mm offset
I would like wider tires with 18" rims all around, but may not be worth it if I can not fit a wider tire. Thanks!

Well , since you are AWD IS250
what you should get are 4 same size wheels/ tires
BECAUSE YOU ARE AWD NOT LIKE RWD IS
if you going to use RWD set up, its not good for your car

Rim/ Spacer Question
I have a set of wheels - 20" Zenetti's Deuces - the size and offsets are as follows:
Front 20 x 8.5
offset : 20
Rear : 20 x 10
offset : 22
Is there any spacers that I could purchase to make these wheels fit with out rubbing???
I would hate to sell these. Is there any way I can save them and put them on my IS350.
Thank you
