Hmmm... I just realized that the 18x9's have an option for a +40 offset. I'm not sure, but coming out .84" sounds very aggressive (which pretty much means +25 is out of the question). Do you think +40 would be a better choice?

As for the front wheels, I think the only other option I have is to also use the 18x9 with a +40 offset up front... but that may also be a little too much. It would push it out about .7" I think... Plus, I don't know if the stock 225s would fit on 18x9's.

As for caliper clearance, that is more dependent on the design of the wheel and not so much the offset.
This is the main reason I read this forum. I learn a lot. You're absolutely right. I did not consider the offset measurement from the oem. Thanks for the info.

Why do you want to run 9s up front, are 8.5s not available? Personally I'd rather run 8s up front with 235 than 9s.

yes, that size and offset for the front would push the wheel out too far (~.70"). If you could get the fronts in 18 x 8.5 with an offset around 40-43 that would probably be ideal and would match the rears with the 35 offset pretty well. You could reuse the stock 225's on an 18 x 8, 35-38 offset and get the same effect. I don't think 225's will fit on a 9" wheel.

I don't want to run 9s up front (and I'm not even sure they'll fit), but they seemed like they might be my best bet for matching offsets.

They have an 18x8 wheel that has a pretty good offset... but it does not come in the right color. Also, the only two good 18x8.5 offsets are listed here.

To al503's point about wheel compromises, I'm all too familiar with how right you are. I've been struggling for the past few months trying to find a wheel that had the best combination of appearance, quality, and performance... Thought I finally found one, but now I can't seem to find the proper offset solution.

If you can get this fitment, you are all set, buy them and enjoy:

18x8.5 / 48offset (f)
18x9.0 / 35 offset (r)

Do you think it might be a better idea to go with:

18x8.5 / 48 offset (f)
18x9.0 / 40 offset (r)

Just to get the front and rear wheels a little closer to matching? The rear wheels would still come out about 2/3" from stock.

Thanks for all the help, btw.

If you don't want to hassle with spacers and/or don't mind that your wheels aren't flush, then yes this setup would match fairly well and still look better than stock. If you plan on slamming your ride on the Tein coilovers then you may not want flush anyway.

Yeah, I don't really want to mess with spacers... My understanding is that those can cause some serious issues.

Default A tire/wheel question - how wide can I go!

Forgive me for being alittle tire size & offset etc... illiterate! Since I have a awd I'm chicken to stager the wheels as others have done...
Between tire rack and different manufacture web sites, they show the OEM tire size of 225/45/17 at anywhere from 8.7" to 9.5" wide????

My question? What is the widest tire you can cram in the front of an 07 250 awd without rubbing... 10" or more?? The standard rim is 17x8 with 45mm offset
I would like wider tires with 18" rims all around, but may not be worth it if I can not fit a wider tire. Thanks!

If you plan on lowering it, than its a lot on offsets too, so keep that in mind, from what I know the widest you should go is 8.5.

Well , since you are AWD IS250
what you should get are 4 same size wheels/ tires
BECAUSE YOU ARE AWD NOT LIKE RWD IS
if you going to use RWD set up, its not good for your car

afaik, for AWD you should keep all tires and rims the same size...you shouldn't stagger them

You basically dont stagger them you just do a different offset, if Im right People on board has done it already and it just looks amazing.

Default Rim/ Spacer Question

I have a set of wheels - 20" Zenetti's Deuces - the size and offsets are as follows:

Front 20 x 8.5
offset : 20

Rear : 20 x 10
offset : 22

Is there any spacers that I could purchase to make these wheels fit with out rubbing???

I would hate to sell these. Is there any way I can save them and put them on my IS350.

Thank you
