Default wheel fitment question

Hi,

My friend is trying to sell me his rims with tires, I was just wondering if it will fit on my car.. will they fit with stock springs?? will they still fit with F-sport's springs??

Here's the specs:
work emotions CR Kai Gunmetal 18x8.5 all around, 5x114.3 offset i believe is +32 , wrapped in Nitto NT555 extreme 245/40/18.

They are in pretty good conditions, and he is selling me for 1200.. good price?

I've seen someone with the same rims on 2nd IS on the wheel thread, but I just want to make sure~~

Thanks!

Default Offset Question

Does anyone know if I will rub with these specs...

Works VS-XX
18x8 +33 offset FRONT
Front tires 225/40/18 F1 GS-D3 Eagles

I'm planning on the Tein H-Tech springs as well (1" front drop I think). Anyone know if it'll rub and will I need to do anything major to fix the rubbing? Thanks!

Default Wheel Question?

Will a 275/35/18 on a 9.5 x 18 (40 offset) rear wheel, at stock height (Luxury pkg), fit or rub?

That's what I'm planning on going with for my next set of shoes. I think you'll be fine. What size wheel/tire are you running up front?

You are incorrect.

When you increase the section width, you need to decrease the sidewall aspect ratio to keep the overall diameter the same.

I believe the closest upsize in overall diameter to the 255 40 18 is 285 35 18. 285 may or may not rub with no drop, not sure on that one.

It's snowing today in Utah (salt lake) and last year it snowed so much that when I got in my car to go to work my stress level would shoot through the roof. I have the 2006 IS 250 rear wheel drive (summer tires) and bought it in San Antonio TX.

My question is, what alternate tire size can I go with for the 18" rims? or do I have to replace them with the factory size? Front 225/40/18 Rear 255/40/18.

I want a winter tire but don't want to spend too much, thinking of trying to get used tires just for the winter months to help with traction however finding that size used with a M/S rating isn't easy.

Thanks.

I have a AWD 250, last year I put on Hankook W300 for the winter and was very pleased w/ the performance in the snow.

I dropped down to 16" wheels for the winter
Here's a pic from Discounttiredirect.com

Here are a couple of pics on the car. Yeah, I know the 16" looks small but the higher profile tires works better in the snow. The 17" wheels go back on in the spring

^^I'll go 16 if I can get a good deal on them, but what I already have in the garage are a pair of Trazano N7000 255/45/18 for the rear and I'm at the point where I don't to much care what they are for the front (look wise) I just want to get past this winter and these utah drivers swear up and down that they can stop on a dime in snow....man my stresss level is starting to rise just thinking about it...I must have had about 6 near hits last year......

I want to use the 275/35 on the rear because it is approx 4/10" smaller in overall diameter. There are two advantages to the slightly smaller diameter. One is clearance and the other is it is slightly lower final gear ratio that will give slightly better acceleration. I'm staying with the stock front tire and wheel size. Even the ISF uses the same overall diameter size front tire.

Default Rubbing question

I'm now on Yoko S-drive 225/35/19 tires and rims offset +35 for front. NO drop yet. But I'm already rubbing when turning hard and sharp. I just found out where it rubs.. it's the plastic part that sticks out..see attached pic (pic borrowed)

I know heat gun and pushing the plastic part in is the solution, but with S-tech drop, will I rub somewhere else? Will I still rub even after pushing back the fender liner with heat gun?

I'm positive with NO drop, heat gun will totally solve it, but what about with s-tech drop? That's the part I'm confused...

I was thinking to go conservative with eibach, but dunno whether it will still cause the same problem as s-tech probably will..

UPDATE: (since this thread comes back to life)

went with Eibach 250 springs, heat gunned that circled part, no more rubbing at full turns and aggressive u-turn. I'm extremely happy!!
