fronts 225's or 235's might scrape fender if ur low. will be really nice.
back 265's and a 5mm or a 10mm spacer shaved fenders ... ultra flush

Sorry for the dumb question, but what does "stretching" the tires mean? What does it do and look like?

Cheers,

puting smaller width tires on wide rims.
example 215/40/19 on a 19x10 rim hahahah

the sidewall of the tire angles more in towards the center of the rim. like a hexagon cut in half /_\

Can u post pic's of your setup? I'm curious also about 18x8 rims with your offsets.

MC, Sorry to threadjack as I dont have an answer to your question. I did see a lot of threads regarding not going staggered on AWD. However, nothing definative about doing same tire size on diff size rims like you are asking.

Thanks for the answer.

How safe is this?! It seems like the tire would look more like this. \_/ The top being stretched where the rim is, well, stretching the tire at the bead.

Why not just put wider tires, is that because of the rubbing?

I wonder if 19 or 20 inch rims will fit ok.

Cheers,

Default Wheel help

I know this has been discussed but I am still a little confused and want to make sure I have this right before ordering something I cannot return. I am looking at the mrr gt1 wheels, staggered in 19 x 8.5 and 19 x 9.5 on a eibach lowered IS350. I looked through some posts and it looks like for those size wheels on approx 1 " lowered car. the offset should be around 40 for front and rear? I am asking because I noticed some with the mrr gt1 in 19s, the guys had some rubbing issues and they were not lowered. So my question is this more specific to the mrr gt1 or is it really a question of having the right offset if so then what do you recommend along with tire size.

tap tap tap.......is this thing on : )

Any advice would be appreciated. Just want to check if the rim sizes of wheel makers are the same or if they are different even though they say 19 x 9.5?

Default +30 offset with OEM tires, is it going to rub?

Hello CL members. I just have a quick tire question. I'm not sure if I should post here or the tire/wheels section; please mods, move if necessary.

My question is, should i worry about my wheels rubbing if I get 18x8.5 wheels with +30 offset and using the OEM tires? To those who isn't sure with the OEM specs, here it is.

Front: 225/40/18, 18x8, +45mm
Rear: 255/40/18, 18x8.5, +50mm

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

if you are dropped you may have problems with the 40 height

It's not dropped yet but it is in my list of future mods. Should I just stay away from the +30 offset?

Let me post it to you like this my man, I have 275/35/18 with a +35 offset and it rubs, with drop susp. I think the max offset you can use is a +35 offset but with 255 tires and it wont rub.

Thanks. I'll keep looking then. It's just that I got offered a good deal on some wheels but it's not worth it if it's going to rub.

I appreciate the help!

I once had 18" wheels with 30 offset, same size tires. It rubbed.

My current wheels have the same tire size, with 45 offset. It doesn't rub.

I think if you keep the same size tire, offset should be between 38-45 (if I remember correctly...).

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind.

Another quick question though, for the rear should I stay between 38-45 as well? Or do I have more room when it comes to offset since it's the rear?
