It's doable, just keep in mind that you're going to have to cut the tabs off of the LEDs and find another way to fasten it to the door cup (in addition to dremeling the slot for the light to shine through).

I've updated my initial post #1 to include the updates that Joe Z and pocky provided.

^^ Once I get my hands on a low-voltage tester... (or you help me with this)

We actually need to find a different wire, because the small thin black wire losses power instantly once the car gets turned OFF.

Double side tape accross the top to secure it down..

We are pros with a dremel..!!

would the wire configuration be the same for the rear as they are in front passenger side?

(since it was still dark)

Because I used this new black wire.. As soon as I turned the car off.. My Passenger side led remained ON, while my Drivers side led turned OFF instantly.

The passenger side turned OFF once I opened my door..

Which means that black wire loses power once the car is off verses once the car is off & door is open..

So I think I just need to find a different wire on the Drivers side, so they both turn off the same way..

Joe Z
any luck finding the wire for the drivers side to make it match the passenger side?

Joe Z,

Sorry to sound pushy here. but did you get a chance to figure out the wire configuration of the driver side?

No need to appologize..

But I will be dead honest, I haven't been able to get to it..
Mostly because I do not have a low-voltage tester handy.

I will do my best to run some tests this weekend and maybe sneak in some night time pictures too...

For right now the little black wire works good.

Regards,

Joe Z

Great mod! Gonna have to do this one! Subscribing to thread!

Would also love to see night shots. Wouldn't want the light to be distracting.

Also, with your black wire testing and such... Do I need to even worry about what you find out when you get your hands on a low voltage meter? Or since I DO NOT have tilting mirrors, I can just go to the orange wire with no problems?

^^ That's what I'm hearing....

If your mirrors don't tilt, you just use the orange wire on the drivers side.. per pics shown in post# 1

The OEM LED's are not even close to being distracting..

These exact LED's are standard features in the LS, GS, GX and maybe a few others too.

Disclaimer: you have a 2010, so i'm not sure what you might run into...
