bump...

Is it the same for removing on a 2011 and can I use the same flank bulb I put on my 2006?

I like the difference from stock a lot!

Just changed out my puddle lights. Followed your instructions and it took 10 minutes total. Thanks for the information.

Just wanted to add my 2cents. I had zero issues with my driver side mirror, but the passenger side wouldn't give up the mirror, even with excessive force.. So ultimately I ended up splitting up the mirror itself (glass portion on the outside, and the inside is the plastic surround housing some of the wiring for the heat) in two. First I unclicked the plastic surround from the glass, spread the two apart watching the black glue separate, and was then carefully able to access the clips and pop then off from the mirror actuator. Quite the exercise for just a LED upgrade...but it was sooooooo worth it!

Hmmm thats odd , I've taken mine apart twice now with no problems, but at least you got through it without breaking anything !

Default Led

I just installed mine last night! The hardest part is the mirror cuz you don't want to break it.

Some things I did for to be extra careful was I used a microfiber towel to help push the mirror back in and I also put petroleum jelly on the clips so they can snap in a little easier lol.

Over no cracks and it looks great! Thanks for the help as I used this as a guide before installing...

Default Video Showing DIY side mirror puddle light replacement

Found this video posted on youtube which has great details on replacing the puddle light at the 7min 15 sec mark:

At the 7min 15sec mark, they show details on removing the mirror, the housing and replacing the halogen puddle light with an LED bulb and putting it all back together. I thought it was very helpful and hope it can be of some help to others replacing their puddle lamps.

so....I had a bit of an accident. I didn't break my mirror but when I was re-installing the mirror I might have used too much force and although I didn't break the mirror, I now see weird blue stuff on the bottom right corner of the mirror, like the color blue that you see when your mirrors darken themselves at night? is there a way to fix this or am I just gonna have to get a new mirror?

Oh man, what year is your car? Sounded like you have auto dimming mirror and I don't think it is fixable.
By the way, I was having a hard time removing the mirror as well. I searched and found a thread showing how to swap the lights without removing the mirror. Basically all you have to do is tilt the mirror as much as you can toward the car, then using a long, skinny screw driver and remove the upper and lower outter screw. Then use a plastic tool or credit card to partially seperate the mirror cover and remove the bulb holder/lense and swap the light. I was able to do both in less than 10 minutes.
