We must have been postin at the same time. Didn't see ur post. While that looks good and makes me glad I didn't get a service package... the dealer wants us to service the cars every 6. Months. Not just every 5k. So if the 1000 dollars covers 8 serives then I probably would have taken it... still more than goin to a local shop but some people pay more havin the peace of mind knowin that their car is in good hands and "Free" wash... everyone in the world is not lookin to save a dollar

If you do drive less than that then it applies even more, since excluding your 30k service you do nothing but oil changes the entire 4 years. Here's the math on that-
4 years is 48 months... or 8 6 month periods. Your first service at 5k/6mo is free. So 7 service visits.
of those, 6 are oil changes only. $50x6=300. (at dealer pricing... $30x6=$180 at a local shop.)
Brake fluid should be done at 30,000 miles or 3 years, so you'll do this once in the period. $150 at dealer, $100 at a local shop.
Total cost at dealer= $450. Total cost at local shop=$280. So even less cost than doing it every 5k miles if you don't drive much.
Versus paying him $1000 to have this "prepaid"
Again you'll also spend $50-100 on air/ac filters in this time, but you do those yourself. The cabin filter doesn't even require you to open the hood, it's done in the glovebox.

I think he is relaxed. He's simply pointing out the huge difference in cost (which is the reason why people come to community forums, advice remember)?
The point is still the same...pre-paid maintanance agreements from the dealerships are inflated. If you want to get the same work performed at a reasonable cost, follow the advice provided, if not, give the extra money to the dealer.
The choice is yours -

I turned in my IS350 last month. $0 wear and tear charges. I had a bunch of dings and scratches on the front and rear bumpers, as well as a nasty door ding I got just a few weeks before turn in. Lexus is pretty lenient, more so than ANY other car I've leased.

1 tiny detail
I think an important detail isn't being pointed out in this tread. The excessive wear and tear allowance does not allow you to repair your car or get new tires. It simply allows you to turn in your car with these damages. Who's going to drive around with dents or scratches bigger then a credit card? Rim gashes over 1inch? Tires below 1/8" thread? If the damage is big..like up to $2000 per instance...which is the current offer... And you get it let's say in the first year...will you drive your car like that for 2 years? I sure won't. And if you spend 5 minutes on Google..you'll find tires for your car used...almost new for under $100 easily.. Get them early...enjoy and turn in. Just plan according. Plus the $875 is financed...so it's about $1000... Remember.. The safe lease doesn't fix the damages...only allows you to turn in the car with them.
