A girl I know said the LX570's black is different than the rest of the Lexus, its SHINIER, and NICER!
I was being the Lexus know-it-all at the time, I told her, no its all the same, its all Obsidian. She said no, its different!
I checked toyotareference.com and realized all the LX cars are Black Onyx, even the 2010 model, ouch. I guess its something about girls and their nail polish lol. :P

I have an Obsidian Black IS and my fellow Lexus buddy t0e has a Black Onyx IS and I can tell the difference between the two. Obsidian (212) has yellow in it you can notice this when parked under any non white light illuminated area. If you point halogens at Obsidian you can see the yellow in the paint it almost passes off as dust. So if you're ever parked out at the curve on a late afternoon and the sun is shining on your IS you'll be able to tell the color differences between the two if you have more than one black on your IS.
Just from my detailed observations
But you can certainly pass the two off together under normal conditions. Some of us can tell and some can't. I can tell right away when there's paint variations I guess it's a trait. It does bug me but I've learned to deal with it
