Upgrading to ML Nav in regular Nav equipped car?

From what I understand, the ML system needs upgraded speakers and uses 14 of them not the standard 13. It also uses a completely different amp system as well. I'm going to say yes you can swap it out to watch DVD's but then there is a good chance you will get error codes because of the missing ML hardware/software...

you can but finding that ML DVD unit is going to be pricey, you'll need the center speaker and sub along with the digital audio cable, I'm in the process of making one, and the amp. I can't remember if it was a different amp or not i was talking to someone that did the swap with the same amp, but maybe my memory serves me incorrect.

I believe you can swap an ML dvd player into a regular nav, regular amp, car and get DVDs to play, but without surround sound.
