Default Upgrading to ML Nav in regular Nav equipped car?

I have an 07, NON ML but does have NAV. Can I swap in an ML Nav setup for the option to watch dvd's?

From what I understand, the ML system needs upgraded speakers and uses 14 of them not the standard 13. It also uses a completely different amp system as well. I'm going to say yes you can swap it out to watch DVD's but then there is a good chance you will get error codes because of the missing ML hardware/software...

You will also need the digital cable that goes from the deck to the ML amp.

you can but finding that ML DVD unit is going to be pricey, you'll need the center speaker and sub along with the digital audio cable, I'm in the process of making one, and the amp. I can't remember if it was a different amp or not i was talking to someone that did the swap with the same amp, but maybe my memory serves me incorrect.

none of the stock speakers are the same as the ML ones...not even the same resistance...(and in the case of the rear ones not the same size or location on several of them)

I believe you can swap an ML dvd player into a regular nav, regular amp, car and get DVDs to play, but without surround sound.
