Default New Here: What mod's should i do next? (Pics inside)

Hey everyone,

Im looking to do anything to my car... i guess i get bored! I'm trying to keep the next mod around $750 or less... what are all of your opinions of what i could do?

Ideas so far:
Springs
Black the front grill/emblem
Upgrade/replace headlights/fogs
roof spoiler (color matched)
HKS Hi-Power
Front lip (any one, really)

Let me know what you'd go for!

I've posted a few on my.is and here, but here's a few of the same shots from my my.is post:

Welcome. A complete GFX kit would compliment your trunk spoiler nicely. As for your list, I think a drop with springs would definitely help the overall profile/stance of the car.

forget springs and get a good set of coilovers!!! Slam that btshhh and you're be fine. You have a very low budget to play with. You cant go wrong with riding low on stockies

Thanks for the input so far!

I'm having a hard time deciding FOR lowering it just because the few entrances around town (Houston) i have to drive up everyday, i dont want to scrape...

As far as the budget, I really want to up it and go for some 19" or 20" rims... but I'm planning on getting out of an apartment and into a house so the house plans are more important (to the girlfriend) than the car. haha

As far as springs go, are uneven stances common when dropping on springs? I've seen a few posts with people hating their own spring setup due to one side being lower than the other.

coilovers will probably take up the majority - if not all - of your mod budget. that is, assuming it's only $750. if you can live with that, go for it.

however, if you're truly budget-conscious and are looking to spread that amount over more than one mod, look into lowering springs.

the uneven stance is pretty much commonplace on all 2is's - whether on oem or aftermarket springs. it's not significantly noticeable unless you break out a ruler/measuring tape.

You can get an intake and springs for around $500 and put the rest into your gf.

^^ That's a good man right there. HAHA!

Do springs (I suggest H&R. I have them on my car and I love them. You can get them for $255 shipped). Don't do coilovers since it seems you are on a budget. That leaves you just under 500 to play with. Search around on the classifieds on here. You may find a good deal on an exhaust or a body kit that you like You can do little mods like HID kit, changed the DRLs/Parking lights to LED/whatever, ect. You can paint your own emblems, grill, ect.

Or.
Just save up your money some more, and get something BIG!

Think the tail lights are a bit too dark, maybe a lighter tint on it. Like everyone else said get some nice coils and slam it, then maybe 6-8k hids on top and yellow fogs on bottom?

hmm so far sounds like you dont know what you want for a drop. Thats why i would suggest coilovers. its better investment in the long run. Springs are ok, but you will never be happier wtih coilovers, trust me, most ppl that are on springs wanna go coilovers, and ppl on coilovers wanna go AIR!! Classifields and knowing ppl are the way for hook ups lolz.. Be very careful of the mod bug and stay away from meets and CL if you dont wanna spend over your budget!! lolz BTW Welcome to CL

Thanks again for everyones thoughts and opinions!

I found some Tein High Tech springs in the classified i might end up getting. The drop is very subtle with 1" Front and 0.6" Rear, so hopefully it will be somewhat noticeable and i still wont scrape pulling into work everyday.

I'm now on the fence about the HKS Hi-Power exhaust... I think i need to hear it in person before i commit to it.

Another thing actually, pretty much all the lips i see on 2IS's on the forum, i sometimes dont even notice? Maybe theyre more noticeable in person? Or am i just blind? haha Either way, I'd like to get one! Ha
