I would like to point out that you cannot compare a lexus to a honda.
EX: A honda owner challenged me to a race. He drove a 2007 civic SI with full exhaust, header, intake, vtec chip, and other misc honda bolt-ons. My car is stock except a custom exhaust(with all 4 cats still intact). his car was stripped to the bone to save weight, I have added weight to mine with a stereo and other little things here and there.
needless to say i pulled him with my AC running, stereo on, and nice and comfy.
Now I'm not saying that the 350 is the fastest car ever or anything, but I am pointing out that it is a different class entirely. We should stick up to keeping up with bmw, audi, etc., while they should stick to evo's, sti's, and other japanese tuners. Just because its made in Japan, doesn't mean its a sport compact tuner.
Now, back to the problem of catching the m3..... haha

I'm sorry bro
but who says that your car has to be FAST to be luxurious?
comparing honda civic to IS250 is just not reasonable
hondas are little fast for sure, and I've seen many heavily modded Honda Civics being faster than M3,M5,M6 IS250/350 etc....but you know in the end
Honda is just HONDA
Well said.

it goes both ways, imo.

at the end of the day, the kid that mistakenly dissed the OP's 2is just works the drivethrough at mcdonald's, and the 2is is just a car. sometimes, we all just need to go buy ourselves some perspective.

Buy yourself a sense of humor. He was clearly sharing what he thought was a funny experience.

Nope - he said he remained polite, but he was "pretty pissed". I'm not sure how you get funny out of that. It bothered him enough to come whine about it on a message board so faceless Lexus owners can join him in validating how wonderful his car is, and how stupid/pathetic the McDonald's employee is.

There's a number of conclusions that can be drawn from this thread...funny isn't one of them. This is the kind of stuff that contributes to luxury car drivers being seen as total d-bags.

And just how "special" was the Lexus in question? (what year/model/mods, etc.?)

but when you really truly think about the 2IS, were not true luxury (VIP platform) cars and were not true sports (tuner) cars either, thou a 2IS does fall more on the sporty side of the spectrum, a E350 is more luxurious than a 2IS.

since you couldn't tell that i was just giving the OP some insight, why don't you go buy yourself some perspective and literacy?

... in addition to a sense of entitlement by 2is owners.

what's worse is that there's nothing to change that perception.
