Went back to the dealership today to have the screen replaced. Took about 2 or 3 days for the screen to arrive.
Everything is working like it was before it failed.
Was in and out of the shop in about 90 minutes or so.
I also got a new battery under warranty as well after I asked the service rep to have the technician check the condition of the battery.
I am glad everything is back to normal.

just wanted to give an update... My touch screen stopped responding... I ended up buying a screen from a fellow member on here... I just got around to installing it today... and everything works perfectally. If you are out of warranty... don't let lexus trick you into spending 3,000 dollars for a replacement. All you need is a new touch screen.

I know this thread is old but the same thing just happened to my wife's car and unfortunately the warranty as expired. We received a quote of $2300 for the navigation unit. I'm hoping somebody on here with experience has a cheaper alternative. Any help is appreciated.

My problem is still not solved. Lexus offered to covered half of the cost, but still ended up over $1000. I am in the process esclating it to the management level, it is now became a safety issue, distracting while operating, unable to adjust A/C....etc................Anyone share their similar problem.

I think the easy answer is to replace just the touch screen by ordering it from Sewell and swapping it out yourself. There should be instructions on how to take apart your console here. Check the stickies section.
