Trading my '06 IS350 for my 2nd S2000
I traded my beloved '02 S2000 in on an '06 IS350 almost 4 years ago after a divorce. Having a roadster as my only vehicle sucked, so I felt that the IS350 would be more practical while still being sporty. It was my first Toyota product after a long list of Honda products. However, now that I'm married again, and my wife has an SUV, I don't really need the bigger car. After quite a bit of soul and internet searching, I've decided to trade my IS350 in on another S2000.
Yesterday, I found a great deal on an '08 GP White S2000 for $26,500 (red interior, removable hard top, OEM rear wing, 6600 miles), so I put a deposit on it. I believe the dealer (Bankston Honda of Lewisville) is also giving me a fair trade-in value on my IS350 ($22K - Base model with 49,000 miles).
I'm sure I'll miss this car, and will probably regret the fact that I didn't ever try reclaiming my "Fastest Known IS350 in the 1/4 mile" title.

Nice Greg.
You had always said you liked the s2000 anyways.
I love the way the look, but the absolute 0 tq of that car is just soul crushing to me. Nothing like winding the hell out of an engine and not feeling it.
Didn't you have a SC kit on your last s2000?
Where does the baby seat go?

Thanks everyone.
The torque issue really has been the only thing keeping me on the fence about getting another S2000. I will really miss being thrown back in the seat as I leave everyone in my dust from a stop light. However, that was really the only thing "fun" about the IS350. The poor handling and crappy paddle shifting kills it for me. I'm really more of a road course guy than a drag strip guy. There aren't many cars that can keep up with a well-driven S2000 on a road course.
My 1st S2000 just had a few "bang for the buck" bolt-ons, 4.77 gears, and my self-tuning piggy back ECU. I'm sure I'll do similar things soon on the new one. I suspect that this new one will rekindle my interest in completing the piggy-back again, and maybe add nitrous control.

Sounds like a nice find! I agree with you about the IS only having straight line speed going for it; the paddles are just haha
Nice trade IMO, but...
You didn't learn the first time around...?
