Default Accelerating the IS350

Hello,
I have a question regarding on my is350.
I have about 1300 miles on my new 2009 is350 and was wondering if it was safe to gas the car once in a while. After 1000 miles on the car, I would gas the car to redline everytime I come home because their is a long stretch of road. Is it bad for the car to gas it once a day? Also I have notice that I have like 2 long scratches on the driver side doors that are like 10 inches but are faint in color. I don't know why but even though I take care of the car, it always seems that scratches appear randomly on the car=(. Even so, the Lexus is sexy smexy =D keke. Give me your advice!

It's definitely not a bad thing. Not ever pushing is probably worse.

They didn't put 300hp in the car for you to be dainty with it. Floor that ****!! I love onramps and any other excuse to punch it and watch the cars fly by. But I never speed.....I swear.

Oh yea and plus while driving my scion tc 2007, I would get frequent gestures to race from other people with tc, rsx, cobalts, honda, maximas, and etc. After driving the is350, the enviornment seems very quiet because no one wants to hint (gestures) to race me =D

You'll use a lot more gas, but other than that you shouldn't cause any harm.

I was beside a Subaru WRX a week ago, and he kept flooring it and letting off the gas. I was driving a steady 45 (residential street), and then he cut me off and threw his hazards on signalling the "win". I'm sure he's on the Subaru forum bragging about the "kill" as I write this. The best advice I can offer to you, is don't be that guy.

Thanks for the suggestion mate. Yes I completely agree with you. Take the race to the tracks, not on the streets! =D

I wouldn't "put the pedal to the metal" so it would red line. O-rings wear down a lot faster at higher rpm's...higher friction...higher heat. You have a new lexus, take it easy for a little bit...
You don't have to floor it to be going 120

Those two long, 10 inch scratches, may be from improper washing techniques. Or door dings. They can definitely be buffed out though. I try not to accelerate 24/7 but having a car like this, you can't help it... it's almost taboo not to!
