I don't think the two wheels are worth debating, cuz you are comparing apples and oranges IMO. Without questioning the quality and price of the wheels and just deciding on looks alone...
If you want an aggressive stance/lip, no doubt go with LCD. If you are going for a subtle look Axis S5.

I have to agree with JVT. You should decide on what kind of look you are going for and choose rims that compliment your choosen style. LCD and Five are two totally different looks. Five will be black on black and it takes some careful planning to pull of a blacked out car. But, you want my opinion on rims..............LCD for me just on the looks alone. Those Fives are not for me in a all black.

I prefer the styling of the LCD. I think it looks more elegant, but most of the pictures I've seen have been on the SGM.
Regarding "knockoffs" or "ripoffs", I would just like to point out that the manufacturer most of you think LCD is replicating wasn't the first either. I think when considering manufacturers you should consider durability, customer service, etc. Most of the wheels out there are replica or variation of another manufacturer's wheel (even if it's from several years ago). Car manufacturers are just as guilty of "ripping off" successfully styling (or functionality) from one another...
