Default Smoked tail lights

So I was just chilling in the garage today and i found a piece of smoked vinyl that i didn't use on my other car so i thought it was a perfect opportunity to do a little DIY on the 09 lexus tail lights. Not sure if anyone has done this on their car yet, so hope I'm the first!

Before:

Lit up:

Ordered red vinyls for the amber signals today so i'll take more pics when i put them on

I like how the clear part stands out on my 2009 SGM. It's different, but not for me.

I think it will look nicer if it's a bit brighter.

Nice! I must try this someday.

Btw, how did you measure and cut those vinyl? Lay it on the tail lights and cut through? Afraid I might do it the wrong way.

i'm guessing you draw an outline and then cut it off the outline, looking forward to OP explaining this a bit more

I'd be a little afraid to cut it on the tail light, would hate to scratch it.

haha that's cool. i'm actually fine with it just being clear (as long as the amber part is redded out) but i saw the vinyl and took at look at my taillights and though of being a little creative

I ordered it from bluebatmobile.net. He's a vendor in socal and makes very good vinyl for alot of cars. The one i bought was for the 8th gen civic taillights, so I had to measure it and cut it out myself.

haha glad I could help you out!

hmm I think the one i bought was the brightest already, cause I remember I originally bought it for my civic but I didn't want the cops pulling me over for smoked taillights so I bought the lighter one.

haha no, I just took a sharpie and measured the outline of the clear part and then I used a scissor to cut it out. I know it's kind of ghetto, but at least it works! haha

yeah, i already ordered the red vinyls from AeroTect yesterday. I just have to wait for them to ship here. I'll post more pictures once they're on.

hahaha yeah it does. Oh I think that will look good smoking out the red and leaving just the clear part. I didn't have enough vinyl to do that so I just smoked the white part. Post up pictures if you do decide on doing that please!
